Aerosoft Airport Berlin Brandenburg (BER) has opened in MSFS

Featured Replies

I don't know if you guys saw this but Aerosoft Berlin Brandenburg (BER) has been released here: https://www.aerosoft.com/en/flight-simulation/continents-sceneries/europe/germany/3252/aerosoft-airport-berlin-brandenburg?c=1707

One thing I like about the airport is that, it uses the new lighting system which makes taxiways looks way better and realistic, not  blue light festival like the default airports or majority of other payware lol. Let's hope there will be more payware using this technology.

Surprising it didn't take 14 years to finish and it doesn't have broken escalators or fire detectors lol

I don’t want to be negative because there is a lot of things to like about it from the trailer but one thing stood out to me, it looks so empty which really ruins the immersion.

True, its quality is not on the level of EDDK unfortunately but yeah, the only nice thing is just the new lighting system

Wouldn't a busy BER be more immersion breaking?

True, but there’s still 60 plus flights in and out of there tomorrow (just checked, very bored) plus I want the airport to feel realistic when we come out of this lockdown. As I say still looks pretty nice but the lack of traffic an just a lot tarmac in sight doesn’t give a good look to the overall feel an with the pandemic if we’re talking about reality there should be a ton of parked aircraft 😊

There are 3 freeware EDDB's out there

https://flightsim.to/discover/eddb

True, but one is to be avoided (uses Google imagery, which just looks awful close-up) and the other two could do with collaborating (as has been suggested to one of them in the comments).

OS:     Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU:  MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB]
SSD:  Corsair Force MP510 (for OS);  2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)
HDD:  Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet

Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)

Just flown into EDDB and on the plus side....no stuttering/freezing on approach. Albeit this was my first and only approach.

Version 2.3:

  • Rwys renamed to 04/26 in airport config, taxisigns and ground markings
  • Added batch file to reset index files that make switching on/off content possible on all systems now (wasn't working in some instances previously)
