FlyTampa Copenhagen Kastrup v2

Featured Replies

I have v1 of this airport package installed in P3Dv4.5HF2, and it is superb. However, I have been considering upgrading to v2. Can anyone tell me how much of an improvement this is over v1? I assume that v2 has dynamic lighting, but I am curious to know whether more of the city of Copenhagen is modelled. I think that there is a section of Amager Island (the north east tip) which is not included in the v1 package, so I would like to know if this has been added. I am guessing that all of the textures have been upgraded to PBR status, but I would welcome feedback regarding how much better the airport looks compared to v1 (considering that my existing scenery looks very good already).

I feel that for the upgrade price ($12.99) offered by FlyTampa it is very much worth it.

I can't say much about the modelling of Copenhagen itself unfortunately as I mostly tend to fly IFR, but insofar as the airport itself is concerned the PBR textures & dynamic really do make a lot of difference in making the scenery look a lot nicer. There is also support for SODE Jetways which I always consider a big plus on any P3D Scenery. And though I can't confirm this I do feel like the performance is actually improved relative to the old version as well, as I find a lot of older sceneries in 4.5 tend to have choppy framerates.

CPH v2 is certainly one of the best looking airports I currently have. It isn't an essential upgrade per-se but I think the upgrade price is low-enough that it's worth it for all the visual improvements.

Same here, I also don't notice Copenhagen city a lot. But on the entire airport ground and building textures have been improved.ย  Terminal expansion and Pier C remodelled, SODE VDGS added and all this at acceptable performance.

This is certainly one of the best Airports ever made, well worth the small upgrade price.

Personally I don't regret having made the upgrade, but I will say that I am little bit disappointed that the scenery still does not reflect the actual state of the real airport. I last traveled through CPH in September 2019, and the aircraft I flew on was parked at parking position E36. That one, and the adjacent positions, are still very much a building site in the scenery. Which wasn't released until April or May 2020. It is still a very good scenery though, and who knows, maybe another update is coming at some point.
