FSLabs forum requires your real name to get liveries.

Recommended Posts

I'm confused, you want to go to a public place to obtain someone else's work but be private?

Having a mother-in-law (age 80) that was just recently scammed (successfully as the police and FDIC did nothing) out of $83,000.  Her real name was never relevant to the processing at all.

What was relevant is the instigation of fear by using "homeland security" and "sheriff" on the phone.  She was instructed to give away her bank account numbers, soc sec number, and more all under the pretence she was helping homeland security catch criminals ... little did she know she was actually talking to the criminals.  Again to put this into perspective, she was 80 years old and living alone as her husband recently passed away 2 years ago.

I personally find it disgusting that another group of humans could take advantage of an 80 year old lady like this but that is the world of "privacy" we apparently live in.  It's so "private" that it's easy for criminals to take advantage of people, steal software, rob their life savings, etc. etc.  Even more disgusting is the Police (due to privacy laws) were unable to stop the wire transfer and the Bank ignored requests to stop the wire transfer.

Privacy is a double edge sword, but it benefits criminals more than it does honest people.

Cheers, Rob.

When I purchased the FSL A320, my forum account was automatically set up with my real name (from the purchase information). I immediately changed it to a nickname and got a temporary ban from the forums which is still up because I don't post there so I never bothered to change the name again. I can however download all liveries and mods from their forum's download page.

I have many "real names". The only question is which one to use. It's no big deal.

Surely you can't be serious....

I would make an email address at google or yahoo, something like ErnestBilko@google.com. Then sign into the forum entering your real name as Ernest Bilko when you are really named Duane Doberman.
