Exclude AI Models

Featured Replies

I am sure i have seen this in another thread but my google fu seems to be weak today. How do I exclude add on planes from showing up as AI. I have more Bleriot's at KMCN than were probably produced in an entire year of their production run. And while Bell 47's were commonplace around Seoul in 1952 I don't think I have ever seen one in Macon, Georgia in the 21st century...thanks in advance for your help.

I could've sworn I saw a thread where it was mentioned...maybe it was in the FSX forum, my brain is often confuzzled.

Set AI planes to generic.

Yeah, not my favorite option but it'll do...It is not a big deal but I do like seeing pretty planes that aren't 110 years old at the airports. I thought I saw a config edit solution where you could turn off specific planes, but again it may have been another platform.

You have to edit their aircraft.cfg file

isAirTraffic = 0
isUserSelectable = 1

Above means it's user selectable but not AI selectable.

Putting a 1 in place of the 0 (or I think even leaving that line out) means AI can use it.

What's needed is a 'probability' slider where 100% means you will see it at every airport* (or flying in your vicinity), down to 0% where it will never appear as AI.

(*Obviously 0% would be fixed for the likes of an airliner appearing at a farm airstrip!).

Fellow Georgian with the win! Thanks!

This does not work, unless Asobo have 'fixed' it in the update that came through last night. The sim appears to ignore those config lines outright. I have a similar issue and tried this. I often get multiple AI "Flying Iron" Spitfires (pay ware add-on) since I purchased and installed it. They spawn in at the gates of all the airports I fly too, regardless of what aircraft I am flying. They seem to dominate all other AI. Another thing I have noticed is that previously, I could see A320's (AI) at some airports sporting as many as 4 or 5 different real world liveries that I have installed to the Community Folder. Made airports look great. More recently, it seems I am lucky to see one other real word livery - it is mainly generic Asobo liveries and of course, those Spitfires....

Can confirm it doesn't work and is not fixed in this update.    Still seeing Spitfires everywhere they absolutely shouldn't be.

Yep, unfortunately it does not seem to have an effect...I reckon there must be a flying club in middle GA dedicated to obscure French planes from the early 20th century. I guess I can use the add on linker to remove those add ons if I know I am not going to fly them, a bit of a nuisance but not a big deal.
