Couldnt start MSFS, Aerosoft CRJ culprit

Featured Replies

Everything went OK with the new update 4, but yesterday I couldn start MSFS anymore, at the last steps of the process it CTD everytime.- None of the usual solutions worked, so I uninstalled and reinstalled MSFS.- The basic install worked OK, buy when I redownloaded all my addons available from Simmarket, the problem was again present.- I dont know why, but I was suspicious about the Aerosoft CRJ downloaded from the Simmarket, so I deleted its file at the MSFS Onestore folder, and now all is OK, but I have no more that aircraft.- Is there a way to fix it  ?

Thanks

Not strange that you got a problem with the CRJ. I downloaded it also (originally purchased from SimMarket) but will keep it stored on my disk until further notice. The language inside the Aerosoft Updater is confusing on how to update, it says one thing to the Aerosoft forums moderators and a different thing to me on my setup.

To avoid any confusion, the required process to update should be clearly stated -and I don't know how difficult it could be to write it down in a visible place in their forums-, like: "you need to download the full version from your shop, completely uninstall your existing version via the Windows Uninstall and completely install the newest version".

In addition, there is now one hotfix needed after re-installing to v1.0.3, to solve issues related to throttle configuration.

Cheers, Ed

I downloaded it from the ingame Market Place, and think it was the already updated version.

just ran into the same issue, MSFS did not want to load and CTDed just before the main menu. deleted the CRJ and now MSFS loaded just fine. will try to download the CRJ again and see whether the issue is reproducable at least on my end

EDIT MSFS crashed again after a new CRJ download from the marketplace... will continue to seek help directly from AS unless someone else has a clue here

The \Community\ folder would be the place to look at. Each user will have a different setup and is basically "untested scenario" for any developer.

Leave the original aircraft folder in it (inlucluding Latest V1.05) and move anything else out of it.

If you still have the isue, it's a matter for aircraft dev to look at.

If OK at this point, put aircraft related liveries and see if they trigger the issue.

If still holding, add the other stuff one at a time until you eventually come across the issue.

Do you mean to move everything in: "..........\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore" folder, or just the aircraft  ?

Thanks

I have the Steam Edition which has a \Community\ folder where all add-ons go.. So can only recommend temporarily removing folders from that \Community\ folder (to troubleshoot potential conflicts between add-ons), not the \Official\ folder or whatever folders that are part of the base MSFS installation.

I did that already, renamed the  community folder and let MSFS build a new empty one, and got no results.-

I did also more: As I had saved the OneStore folder of my reinstall, before adding any new downloads, I tried using it with only the CRJ added, and had the same problem. So there is not an other addon which collides with the CRJ.-

The only clue is that something at the Update 4 maybe the cause, as the CRJ worked OK for me before that upgrade

Interesting. For me the no start problem was one add-on scenery that the developer says has only happened a couple of times. Removed the scenery - started normally. re-installed and no start. Removed again and all is well. Surprised about the CRJ as for me it is working fine.

some have reported that removing the latest version of FSUIPC solved the problem...
