May 31, 20215 yr Excellent shots - thanks. I can't get the Longitude to behave itself since the update, so I'm jealous..
June 1, 20215 yr Wow! that sunset five shots from the end is magnificent. Nice shots Bernd. I haven't invested in that mesh, got mixed feelings about the whole mesh thing in MSFS, and oddly enough, given my love of scenery, I'm completely unmoved by mountains. To me, they're like flying over oceans, I just can't get excited. I've tried. But so far - no go. Weird. June 2, 20215 yr A truly lovely series, Bernd. Everything looks good and the mesh is impressive. And, oh yes, was the landing on the aircraft carrier so bad you didn’t want to show any picture😄 ? 9 hours ago, andy1252 said: I'm completely unmoved by mountains. You get a thrill flying over cornfields in Iowa ? Just teasing you, my friend 😉. Hi Dominique, and oddly enough I do quite enjoy such places, both in the sim and on the one or two occasions I got to visit in RL. I'm the same with islands, I've bought a few scenery addons for various places (Greek islands, Caribbean etc) and although I usually enjoy them at first if I stick to flying over the island itself, the idea of travelling between islands is up there with flying at 40,000 feet for me - not terribly interesting. Give me a few hundred miles of desert though, or prairie . . . Although I have to say I just watched a youtube video from RotorSimPilot that almost made me want to go visit the Alps, so maybe I'll get converted yet. What's really, really great about MSFS is the feeling that we can finally go exploring anywhere in the world and have a chance of finding some great scenery around us. Take care over them thar mountains! cheers, Andy Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. I sometime say (privilege of the older people is that they can repeat themselves, it comes with the territory) : what a motley crew we are ! I flew this morning from Des Moines to Spirit Lake in Northern Iowa to have a look, at 7500 feet. The sat imagery goes from average to mediocre in this part of the US but besides there was not much to do. Keep the aircraft in trim (aircraft had no AP), keep the heading ,do a SOP landing. I like mountains because they often offer challenging takeoffs, approaches and landings. The vista in cruise is an added bonus. But my crème de la crème is hopping from island to island, possibly with a visible relief, at a cruise altitude of about 3 to 7 000 feet 😀. Aegean, Caribbean, Indonesia to Micronesia.
