PMDG DC-6 Throttle Problem - Thrustmaster T16000M

Featured Replies

I bought this plane and was amazed at how nice it looked but very puzzled why it was so sluggish on takeoff and couldn’t get much 100 knots in the air.

I realized that only 2 engines were producing full power...when I advance the throttle slider on my Thrustmaster T16000M only 2 of the engines (selectable with the red indent thing) can go to full throttle, the other two advance a little bit forward then “stick”.

I’m obviously doing something dumb somewhere...I’d like to be able to advance and pull back on all 4 throttles at once using my single throttle slider on my joystick as that’s all I have available (no separate throttle quadrants etc).

Any help is appreciated, tried to join the PMDG forum but those efforts have so far been successful.

Thanks,

Steve

You are forgetting to remove the gustlock. The gustlock is the red metal contraption that runs behind the red brake lever.

Thank you sir, flies MUCH better with all 4 engines producing power vs 2!

Flies much better with gustlock off haha

Agreed and nice capture...now we just need a Northwest livery, and Braniff, and....

i am using a gamepad and the throtlle doesn't work (it works in all other airplanes) , i have to use F2 and F3 to incresae/decresase throttle ....... any solution pls?

Regarding takeoff,   there are two available configurations.   "Dry takeoff",  and "Wet takeoff".      No, one isn't for wet conditions and the other for dry runways.     Wet or dry refers to whether or not the water injection system is active.    With water injection active the engine can make much greater power for the  same overall heat signature.    Water injection was common on some WWII fighters and other aircraft.

Check your settings of your gamepad. Pretty sure you'll have to assign buttons to throttle, especially since it is 4 engines. If indeed it can be done on a gamepad. Can you fly the Boeing 747? Now that I doubt they did check, flying using a gamepad, unless they bring it to X-Box, which if they can figure it out, I think they will. Money is money baby 🙂 And it also has the Flight Engineer anyway, might need some adjustments for an X-Box. They do seem to be a kind of NEW PMDG, so who knows what their plans are?
