What's wrong? Why didn't you like the ER?

I will say this much... if I WERE still purchasing P3D stuff, I would not be buying the MD-11 - have you SEEN the landing lights on the 717? The outside lighting of that bird in P3D v5 breaks any desire for me to fly it and they don't seem to want to fix that. It's also the most resource-heavy aircraft in my hangar in terms of VRAM - for no good reason. It doesn't look any better than FSLabs or PMDG stuff and eats twice the VRAM.

What didn't I like about the ER?  Well the value for the price.  I basically paid 80 bucks for an efb.  An EFB that isn't that good in the first place.  Yes PBR exterior was nice.  But the poor animations of the fan, not so much.  The VC still doesn't look good to me.  The differences in sounds between the 3 engines is barely a thing.  So that's how I feel about that.  Regarding the Tfdi 717.  You can manually edit the fx files via instructions in their discord server.  You also can get the immersion pack.  As they have said.  The 717 was designed a generation ago for a sim we don't even use anymore.  The MD-11 is being designed for today.  If you have followed the development of the plane, you would/should be impressed.  It will be amazing.  VRAM.  Not going to argue that.  The 717 is higher in that department.  I have a 3090 though, so it is moot.  Also since latest V5.2HF, VRAM usage seems lower.

I will be buying the update, don't forget they released a free update when P3D v5 was released so I think they were quite fair with their upgrades...

This. And the RealAir Duke. And all the A2A GAs, the Milviz Beaver and  Aerosofts Twotter.

Hmm... and their Catalina. And FSlabs Airbus and Majestics Dash.

Puhh.... still quite some good reasons to keep P3D up and running.

... and Carenados 185F on skis.

I am screwed already... I did stop flying it mostly because delta scrapped theirs. That said, AIG's OCI plans for Delta have not been updated and are still pre-Covid, so in my sim Delta is still flying MD80s all over the place!

But, I'll be honest. Most of the time I end up flying the PMDG Boeings because they are kind of easy. I really don't have much time to fly these days so when I do I don't want to faff around fumbling for switches. I just want to GO. So, I end up flying the planes I know best - which is the PMDG Boeings. Once I have a little more time on my hands, I ought to start getting into the FSLabs...

And so with all that in mind, as much as I like the Q400, I probably won't get this upgrade. I just don't see myself using it enough to warrant another purchase.

Thanks I was going to write something to this effect.  I've made millions (well slightly less than that haha) screenshot posts with many a P3D products over the years.  I usually just move along with whichever sim is mainstream at the time.  I was really happy with P3d V4 and used that up until the launch of MSFS.  I'm happy to see many simmers still in this forum.

Not to "information", but to people trying to tell them the sim they are using won't be viable much longer. Even though nobody knows what the future will bring. So please, everyone, stop stating your opinions as facts.

P3D user, P3D opinion, I've been asking for these upgrades for a while, I'll be buying and flying it for some time yet, irrespective of whether or not I also use the other sim in parallel... 🤣
