So...should we not purchase through the marketplace?

Featured Replies

I bought only FT EKCH from the Marketplace because it on sale for $12. I assume it will be my last purchase from the Marketplace. I also don't like the fact that I have no record of my purchase other than I bought Steam money.

That is one of my two biggest gripes, no record of purchase and delayed updates.

only stuff I'll purchase through marketplace is things I don't need access to the files for third party apps (or tweaking). So that basically leaves landmarks, texture packs, anything not an airport or aircraft.

Already made the mistake of buying the FSDT Vancouver through the marketplace. Might rebuy it somewhere else during a sale or something, just so LNM can read it.

Side note, World Updates are not encrypted, so third party programs can read those airports.

MS already said that they are killing the UWP layer so I assume that this encryption problem might go away in the future? In any case, I purchase most of my add-ons via the marketplace. That way I support *all* developers and hopefully contribute for an overall healthy ecosystem.

Just thought I would mention that both my LVFR KFLL and FSDREAMTEAM KEYW airports had updates available in the content manager when I started the sim this morning.  I haven't used them yet, but good news that they got the updates loaded pretty quickly!
