Can we see some screens of SU5 degradation?

Why when you fly over a forest at say 2,000 feet now it looks like a billion worms are eating the leaves on the trees?. It's creepy looking.

It certainly is odd.  ..and I've just experienced that very thing in Hawaii.  Ground textures absolute mush, it all looked very FSX.   Had to quit my flight it was so bad.    Another poster here Glen Fitzpatrick mentioned the same this around Sunshine coast yesterday and I had a look and it was pretty bad there as well.

Up till these I'd done 40hrs+ of post SU5 flying and had nothing but super sharp textures that looked better than ever.

Hey Moose, that's because your graphics settings somehow got dialed back.

I did an HNL to Maui OGG yesterday.

Climbing out I noticed the same mush ground textures.

I went into the menu and set the graphics to ultra and everything came back clear and sharp.

Go figure ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What were they set to , before you moved them to Ultra?

Bob, they were set to custom where I had them before, a mix of high and ultra.

Somethings kicking the graphics settings back regardless of where you had them set.

Today I did an SLC DEN in the default A320 and the ground textures seemed to be ok.

OK, I have checked mine several times and they seem to stay the same.

Wonder if my 1080 TI will gain enough footing with the update to approach that range.  Have not been able to scare up an RTX 3 series other than a 6GB two fan 3060.  Pass,

The 3080's are out there, check your local craigslist.

This guy might have some left, he did a few days ago when I inquired for a friend but the seller is in Las Vegas..

I wouldn't do something like this any other way than a face to face in the police dept parking lot these days.

Here is the thing, this has all gotten pretty confusing to be honest. I am an "ok" rendering person and I have a programming background, and even experience working with other game engines. I know there might be others that have more specialized gaming backgrounds than myself, but without hopefully sounding dumb in any way, even given all the above, I am starting to NEVER know what I am doing anymore.

I'm starting to question my own sanity here as far as how much my settings are affecting stuff, and what problems there are.

Here's some shots I took today and one pre-SU5.

Pre-SU5- I will have to try to replicate this shot in SU5.

Alan if I take off from EGNX 27 do a right hand patten and return to land, the airport is gone. You will just have to take my word for it. Becasue I cannot me word not allowed@ed to do it again....its fine when using hand crafted or addon paid.

Oh I don't doubt there are airports with issues in the sim, frankly it would be the only flight sim ever if it didn't have some glitches in it, I just can't be doing with people who bang on about issues such as these as though someone has stolen their life savings or shot their dog. We are talking about a toy plane game and a patch which had some glitches in it.

So yah, it's a just simulator, but try to tell John McEnroe it was only a tennis game. Some people spent thousands of hours building their home cockpits (I never went that far), and yada yada.

There are those that are being inflammatory intentionally, and some of us being read as being so for expressing ongoing frustration here and there, with perhaps some languishing in terms of colorful language which can be misconstrued as such I suppose. I never claimed to have perfect emotional zen balance or be the next jedi knight 🙂

It's been problematic for a few days, since the patch. And it will be fixed, because MS want to make money off it. Try to keep some perspective, it's not the end of the world, or the end of a revenue stream either.

Microcenter @ Parkville has a MSI RTX3090 Triple Fan in stock but very expensive.

Yes, but I think you missed how silly it was getting. We would post just a mention of an issue, not even a complaint, and people started accusing us of being paid by Xplane directly. Next thing you know people are going to start asking for my tax returns. They also said I had bad marketing, but I am not doing marketing, I don't even sell any products, everything I've ever made I gave away for FREE mind you.

So as much as I understand the point, it seems pretty silly in here lately, and I'm not that sure it is coming more from the people posting issues, but maybe more from the other side trying to suppress things.
