I used to use CCleaner all the time, but with my new PC, I don't use it anymore. I don't think it is needed at this point and could cause problems.

It may have been useful in the old days but has been a good delivery app for malware.  

One sys admin gave me a healthy admonishment for using it at work.

They had one malware incident many years ago.  Their distribution server was hacked, and the install file was compromised.  It was found and pulled, and hasn't re-occurred since.  One can argue it's merits, but malware delivery is not really relevant at this point.

This is one of the most comprehensive lists MS has put together. Try following all of them (especially the conflicting apps and Windows Defender exception).

Hmm value your opinions all the time but I have been using CCleaner registry portion for many years never had a problem with this program
