TBM 930 cockpit lighting

Featured Replies

How can I improve the cockpit lighting in the Daher TBM 930. I barely see any knobs or buttons during bad weather or when it is dark outside. There are several related topics around but they are rather old and I could not find a solution.

See if this mod and its description provide any help.  If it is SU5 friendly it says it contains some lighting mods.  Also appears to mention at least one additional lighting mod that may be available.

Did you press the two lighting switches on the overhead panel?

I played around with that dim and cabin wheels on the OH panel but with no success. Did you mean this?

Thank you. I know the the mod and there is another one around, but I don't like them for other reasons.

The TBM Improvement Mod includes Uwa's lighting mod for the TBM930.  If you don't want the Improvement Mod (which is very good) then use Uwa's mod by itself for the TBM930.

The top panel map lights work on a push-button press for each and will add a decent amount of light over the panel and switches.  I use them all the time, including daytime.

The first interior knob just right of the exterior lights on the overhead panel will change the back-lighting and label levels for all of the panel controls.  (It may be necessary to have the Uwa mod in for this to work properly),  This combination with the overhead map lights does a decent job.

Finally, it's important to have the WT g3000 mod in. The lighting control gives you great level control over the LCD panels, which need to be backed way off at night.

There's always the "flashlight" which acts more like a headlamp. It is on by default at night when first starting cold and dark and then goes off when you turn on the battery/alt I believe. I have added it to one of my Bravo switches to toggle on/off.
