September 4, 20214 yr I have what you call a marginal Internet connection so it takes on average 10 minutes for MSFS to load. So to bypass all the prep time and update checks I simply kill my internet connect right after the first load screen (and I'm sure that I'm logged in) this will cause MSFS to put me into offline mode and open to the main screen almost immediately. From there I can go into options and change my data settings back to online after I reconnect my internet. This hack has saved me bucco amounts of time. September 12, 20214 yr Just wanted to say thanks for this tip. I have satellite and although once it starts downloading data it’s not too bad the ping delay for starting MSFS was around 7 minutes. I remember reading this and tried it last night. Brilliant. Took 2 mins. cheers.

September 12, 20214 yr Cant wait to try this. I have a decent net connection but this old PC creaks. 5:30 mins to the home screen with empty Community folder.

September 13, 20214 yr Go 1GB ISP service...simple and quick...can't even now get a coffee from the kitchen and I am at the 'fun screen'. Before...at 360 Mb's...about 4-5 minutes or so.

September 13, 20214 yr So...the slow load times @bean_sprout and I are experiencing are because of background internet data loading? Havent got a chance to do the trick yet will be doing a flight shortly. Trying to decide a route!
