  1. Just wanted to say thanks for this tip. I have satellite and although once it starts downloading data it’s not too bad the ping delay for starting MSFS was around 7 minutes. I remember reading this and tried it last night. Brilliant. Took 2 mins. cheers.
  2. Happened to me to in Firefox. Copy and pasted URL and tried Edge and it was ok. Copied and pasted back to Firefox and oddly then OK. (weird)
  3. @Bdub22 I feel your pain, same thing happened to me. Weirdly it was to do with the USB connections. (Possibly). My yoke, pedals, controller, mouse and keyboard plus Track ir have now had their USB ports manually powered in the settings. In other words I turned off the option of Windows 10 allowing them to power down automatically etc. (there’s various options in Windows settings that a google search can explain). It might be fluke but not one CTD since. (2 months now). However be wary that doing this doesn’t help with sending the PC into sleep state as when trying to wake again Windows can’t start the keyboard etc. Answer ... don’t use sleep mode ! Anyway, just my input (no pun intended)
  4. Anyone else read this article? What do you think? https://technotrenz.com/news/intels-11th-gen-core-i9-processor-boosts-microsoft-flight-simulator-by-20-percent-614893.html
  5. I’m also one of the lucky ones so it seems and the latest update hasn’t caused any issues. My frame rates have stayed the same and the very very occasional stutters have been there since the start - although it could just be my eyes! (My rig is an i9 3090 32gb ram.) With so many people having problems I almost feel guilty sometimes. I have finally uninstalled Xplane (no more fiddling with the ortho tiles- yay!). I do agree that some of the ongoing quirks, the garmins, phogrammetry etc etc are a little tiresome (plus I gave up on the manual cache but might now try again) otherwise I’m a content flight simmer. Having said that I’m not buying any add ons, despite how tempting, since I’m a little paranoid on things being unstable during the first 12 to 18 months of the sim. The only mods I use are the WT ones and that freeware replay software. (Also, I haven’t seen the contrails yet).
  6. I’m still loving this freeware tool! I have had a little problem with the lock tool sometimes though. Previously it was fine but in a recent flight it went all over the place. In this video from bookmark 13:04 I had to use unlocked flybys but I’m still happy with that. (Forgive my inane blathering). The lock problem might have been because I was using On Air Manager so while recording I did shut down engines at end but quickly restarted them again so they would show being active in the replay. The other thing could be the Track IR setting? So still trying to find out why the lock shot sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t ... for me anyway.
  7. I have found sometimes the drone camera lock can work and other times it flips around all over the place. I’m wondering if it’s to do with the track ir option which makes a difference. Still experimenting though.
  8. I downloaded this and literally got it recording easily almost immediately. I posted a quick video on my very first attempt using this software. It is that easy. (The editing took longer than using the replay tool!). I did start the recording and ended it with the engine running though, as was suggested. I would very highly recommend it.
  9. So it's the options in the drone camera. Follow means the drone follows the aircraft and lock means it turns while looking at aircraft. You can do a non follow and non lock, place the camera and it should fly by. Apologies if A: this doesn't make any sense and B: if that's not what you're asking (!).
  10. So I just downloaded this freeware replay addon. This was my first go at it. (Yes, it can easily be improved with practice!) One badly flown loop around EGVA RAF Fairford and a rather bad landing. This is very easy to use and I followed the advice to start recording with engines on and stop recording with engines off. The replay started at the beginning of recording but when I then paused it I could jump to any part of it. I used Nvidia Shadowplay to record the screen and then edited it. The slight jumps and stutters are my machine and happened normally. (i7 1080ti 32gb ram). This guy deserves a medal!
  11. @Fazz3 thanks for that. Those Noctuas do seem to do rather well in comparison tests. Something I shall bear in mind if I decide to change in the future.
  12. I'm not sure about this I have to admit. Third party dev posted this on the MSFS forum and to me it seems a bit too much. Thinking i'm gonna go for the other one. 'Hi all!!! Thank you so much for all congrats arrived to me ! I m happy help community have a lot of fun with FlightControlReplay! As I said FlightControlReplay for msfs is only first step of journey! There are a lot of variables (like light and other things) that it can be fixed by Asobo . As soon as asobo update sdk I ll update my tool accordingly. One advice for video rendering , if you maximise the window and start video rendering of flight recorded , I think there is no issue . A couple of advices more: PLEASE OPEN THE RIGHT FLIGHTCONTROLREPLAY.EXE FOR MSFS . This is placed is FLIGHTCONTROLREPLAYMSFS FOLDER Because there are three fcr version one for fsx (in the main folder) one for p3d in the flightcontrolreplayp3dx folder and Flightcontrolreplay for msfs in the FlightControlReplayMSFS folder ! set ai offline and g.a and airline traffic slider to 0 please press ReadyToFly button BEFORE that you use FlightControlReplay (play etc) please disable crash option in msfs I think that with these advices you ll can have a great experience ! Obviously as soon as Asobo update sdk I update fcr . In this year there are a lot of things I ll announce on tool . Thank you for all and I m proud of all these fantastic comments'
  13. Yep, I know but hey, I'm trying to go all 'positive' in my mid life. (No, I'm not sure why).
  14. A friend of a a friend who builds them occasionally to earn a few $ - wanted to help and give them a chance (Will have to see how it goes though!)
  15. So I got my new i9 3090 etc etc PC the other day and after installing my 3D software and other odds and sods I gave MSFS a go. Compared to my current 1080ti it absolutely blew me away! I mean WOW! (Admittedly the LOD community addon patch helped scenery pop ups). I also noticed how sharp everything was on 1440 ultra so might change the file to soften it up a bit. Then I found out the liquid cooling was having a few probs and the CPU was getting too hot and throwing out the odd occasional beep. To cut along story short it was sent back a week ago and fixed. However, that area is now in Covid shutdown so I have to wait for them to send it back (not really important on the scale of things of course). I'm 54 but it was like giving a child a shiny new toy and then having it snatched away again - still, I can now look forward to receiving it all over again!
