Maybe some sort of update poll , Fine - Tricky- Disaster?

The other thing I noticed (and forgot to mention in my previous post) was loading up at KBOS and it appears that they've fixed the "floating roof objects" issue. OK so its only one flight from one airport, but the terminal building actually had walls. Will try more tomorrow, but so far, that's another tick from me.

The download instructions on the official website say no such thing.  Read them.

Oh, I just go by the ones posted on here which tend to show up as the very first thing and are generally extremely reliable.  Chaotic is always on the mark with this stuff 🙂  On the official forums, it was in a different post, but I never update without reading all the notes first both here and on the official site..  to easy to not have something setup properly and I like to read the notes to see what airports and thinmgs they have updated so I can play with my community folder BEFORE I try to download a duplicate and get a crash downloading and fully understand all the new options they are introducing.

I'm always an hour or so behind the first downloads, but its always super smooth when I get to it.

Hundreds of software designers manage to streamline their update process.  It seems that Asobo hasn't yet grasped how they do it.

1) The deployment system isn't Asobo's, it's Microsoft's, if you're going to throw shade, do it in the right direction.

2) I was neither defending nor criticizing Asobo, nor Microsoft.  I was challenging the statement that the only "rational" explanation for problems is the deliberate manipulation of already-paying customers to expose them to advertisement.   Does the fact that you're now talking about "shoddy workmanship" mean you've come off of the conspiracy theories?

Again, they could have saved a lot of issues if they had just stated update your Xbox App prior to updating the sim. for the MS Store versions. but hey, that's common sense.

I doubt that anyone at Asobo was initially aware prior to the update going live today, that the installing the XBox app was going to be a prerequisite before the Store would download the update for MSFS. Asobo has no control over how the MS Store functions.

They did change the installation instructions for WU6 to include the download of the XBox app, but only after many end users independently discovered that installing the app fixed the “failure to update” problem.

seemed to be more wind gusts around, especially on short final so actually had to do some work on the landing rather than let it just run in on rails.

I had that issue today at the end of my second flight and I had not updated yet.

It might be my imagination, but it seems as though they've increased the turbulence. Absolutely fantastic effect in hilly terrain and if there are gusts forecast.

Tried to quote two different messages with one post but for some reason that would not work tonight.

I encountered that late in my second flight today and it was noticeable.  I landed at approximately 1330 PDT.  I had not at that time updated.

I had started MSFS before the update and completed two flights, logging some 5 hours.  I rebooted and updated after those flights.

Reading the unfortunately too common disaster comments re the latest update. Holding fire on starting MSFS for the moment - maybe some of the issues will be addressed, and waiting a week or 2 might be worth while?

But maybe the vast majority of updates go smoothly - none of us know?

Why not a simple update success poll?- Could someone tell me how to do it - or better still - just hi-jack the idea and post a poll?

Would be very useful - not just for update 6, but for every update - same old same old every time...

Maybe it's not as bad as the forums indicate - be nice to know?

I suspect that the update went smoothly for the majority of folks. Some folks will always have problems. The ones who don't tend not to post.
