my performance is down significantly. Why?

Featured Replies

.No scenery add ons. Just the normal ms latest updates. Now my fps are way down. Same airports. I always had my settings on ultra and could fly the FBW 320 or the pmdg dc6 without any issues. Can anyone think of a reason why my performance is down, especially when others are claiming improved performance. thanks. tc

Is your off screen pre caching set to ultra?

CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D  RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090
Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440
Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD
External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

Is your performance degraded at altitude? Or only on the ground? Many have reported stutters on the ground that they didn't experience prior to WU6. I suspect this issue will be address in the forthcoming hotfix. I'm getting fantastic FPS now, except on the ground at certain airports.

It's at low altitude. The performance degradation is so pronounced that I can't fly anymore. I'll sit and wait.

Check if you have LOD settings higher than 2 in the Usercfg.opt file.

High LOD + Ultra precaching is a framerate killer.

7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

Hard to tell from your description, but I would certainly check for both heat issues (especially if the ambient temperature is hot) and background processes (it's posible that malware is running in the background).

Other than that, video software settings, rendering level, LODs and precaching are worth checking.

Yes, but what is it.

It eliminates culling, but it can be a performance drain if you have not enough VRAM and/or RAM. Just switch to "medium" (that's what it was before) and see if that changes anything.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Thank you.
