BTW I saved several different sets of settings in AI Suite ("profiles"), with one which was actually underclocked from the default for the mobo -- just in case I ran into an problems and needed to test things in a presumably less stressed setup.

No, your wrong in afraid. 

Ai suite has a 4 way optimisation wizard which tinkers with the gfx card, as well as the cpu overclock, ram speed and system fans 

If you use Asus gpu tweak 2 or Asus tweak 3, a similar program as above, and over clock the gfx card you will also get a dxgi error. Guaranteed. 

Happened to me with both ai suite and Asus gpu tweak 2 and 3.

Get rid of them Ray.  They cause problems. 

I was getting dxgi errors left, right and centre using ai suite. 

I wiped the system, put windows 11 Pro on and not had one dxgi since. 

 

As for Asus Gpu Tweak 2 and 3 a different program all together if I used it then it would also cause dxgi errors every flight on both v4 and v5. 

I know you IT guys love your coding, and your snazzy graphs and registry hacks and Prepard3dCfg tweaks and affinity masks. 

But im sure its conflicting software with P3dv5 and various addons, you're going round in circles here.

@fluffyflops, we appear to be on different versions. Mine is EZ Update 3.00.11.

I see nothing that suggests the GPU is being overclocked.

I'm getting no DXGI errors.

That's not my system. It's a copy and paste off the Internet, both Asus suite and gpu tweak are not going on the system ever again

If asus suite is not on the pc (because it was causing dxgi errors) how can show you a screenshot

I gurantee you this , you'll get another dxgi error if you continue to use that Asus software (or any software) that messes with the clock speed and power of the gfx card and P3dv5. 

You'll see. You keep faffing around with those  reg hacks and suchlike, the error will come back,youll see

It could have been one you saved. The TdrLevel switch has turned the warning off.

And like Ray's, my install of AI Suite says nothing about the GPU. Maybe I should try and find the version you are using to save having to use MSI Afterburner. Or maybe the AI Suite GPU stuff only works with ASUS GPU boards?

I suspect your full screen view with no virtual cockpit may be the reason Pete. That is the obvious difference between our systems. And given your system is overclocked more than mine that eliminates that as a probable cause.

Taxiing out at UK2000 EGNT to Rwy 25 in the PMDG737 I got the dreaded DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG. How is this possible when I've turned the monitoring off?

I had to load P3D again and this time saved the flight when ready to taxi. Went passed the point where it crashed and it was fine this time. This is not a complex airport by any stretch of the imagination. But it was raining. Related? First issue since 25 Sept.

It seems that the 1080Ti is more susceptible for this error than any other graphics card (I have a 1080ti too)
I'm not getting the error frequently, but if I get it, it is always within the first 15m or so. 
I suspect on my system it has something to do with not changing views initially, but leave P3D in the same view for a substantial amount of time.

So the first thing I do now, is to change views a couple of times.
Most likely changing views is a placebo solution, but hey... I think it works 🙂

@Egbert Drenth, I notice you're still with v4. I never had this problem with v4. I'm not convinced it's the 1080Ti. That card may get mentioned more simply because there are so many still in use.

I'm enroute to Palma, Majorca and am currently east of Tours, France. No problems since the restart. The views get changed by ChasePlane if I leave the sim alone for a while. I'll report back on either another DXGI or on reaching Palma.

i have 1080ti and very rarely have i had that problem, its not the card iam pretty sure of that , to me P3Dv5.2 seems more stablesince i went over to W11

What aircraft do you fly?

I landed at Palma. No problems with the restarted flight.
