September 29, 20214 yr My turn <sigh>... Starting the Steam version, I had a message about some discrepancy between the cloud and my computer saves giving me the choice and I went for the cloud. Now I cannot enter anymore the controls options panel. Everything else seems to work. Did the usual routine, empty community folder, looked for solutions on the net, went offline, no deal. It seems that the cloud saves are corrupted. Or something . Did anybody get this and found the solution ? I didn't have this but noticed yesterday I went to change the sensitivity of my control options and the control options page took forever to load... Then when it did it literally started filling in the screen almost pixel by pixel and everything was unclickable until the page refreshed. It was very strange. I exited out and came back in and was able to make my changes but it still took much longer than normal to populate. Strange behavior indeed. It's almost like we need the cloud to make control changes locally? Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
September 29, 20214 yr Yes, all control settings are stored in the cloud and can be corrupted if anything goes wrong, be careful not to change anything when seeing the spinning loading icon in the lower right corner, I have encountered freezing screen several times when I changed something at the same time as loading has taken place, which has resulted in one or more settings becoming corrupt. I wish we could get a drop-down list for all the saved settings we have, it is very time consuming to scroll through the list when you have to wait for the loading to be completed between each scroll to avoid problems. September 29, 20214 yr Author I think I found the way to extricate myself of this. The cloud saves were indeed corrupted. For future reference, this is what I did : - Switch OFF all online functionalty in Data - Exit the sim - Disconnect your computer from the internet (necessary, if not this does not work) - Launch the sim - The sim is now totally offline and miracle, the Controls Options panel loads ! - Switch online functionality back ON - Exit the sim - Launch the sim. Steam will warn that the Cloud and computer saves are not the same and ask to choose one. Choose to upload the computer saves. Let me check that everything is OK besides having my CO panel back. Kind regards, Michael I went through all kinds of drills when this happened to me yesterday. MSFS Store version. In another topic I reported that at first I felt it was live weather related and switched from one 3rd party weather engine to another. Then back. Making changes in the drop down was horribly slow and at times I feared MSFS had locked up. Then I was able to finally switch to native MSFS live weather. That appeared to fix it. Ah but! Then I read that others had experienced interruptions at or around the same time and each appeared to have found a different solution to recover. I expect there is no fix when it happens other than to wait it out. Each of us likely happened to emerge as we were attempting this or that, and so this or that appeared to be the cure. I think not! I am willing to bet that in each case it was a matter of timing due to data stream. M My own connection is kinda crappy these days and the game servers are not too reliable either as seen from my end so which one is the cause of my grief, I don't know. November 11, 20214 yr I was just about to post the about very same issue, when I came across this thread. At first I thought it was just me, but now it seems that I am far from alone! This is comforting in some way, but of course doesn't address the problem for anyone. I have posted this issue on Zendesk, but I'm sure others have done the same. If I get a response I will ensure to post the reply on here.
