Play 4K or 2K?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

I have a 4K monitor, with a rtx2070 super.

So, my question is:

Is it better to play in 4k with render scaling at 70 (at 100 there is already a big fps drop. With 70 I can play very nice with ultra settings), or is it preferable to play at 2k with 100 render scaling?

Thanks.

Personally I prefer 4k with reduced render scale as I prefer the output to be in the native resolution. I have tried most options and on an i5 @4.5 32 GB ram and a 1080ti I can run it at ultra 4k, rendering at 70 and have 30fps locked. It will do slightly more fps (40ish) but not consistently depending on weather and scenery so I keep it locked at 30.

I prefer native 4k but lock frames at 30. Settings on high not ultra though. RTX 2080S.

Thanks a lot for the feedback.

Yesterday I try 4k with 70 scale rendering, but with 60fps locked. Today I try with 30fps lock.

I'm still on 1920, but I've tried 4k as well on a spare TV.

I think the sweet spot for my RTX3070 is 1440 having tried most of the different resolutions either at home or on other computers.

I wish to play 4k But I am on 2K Since I have no good  Video card on my TV

I saw glimpse of 4K on my home cockpit, with the wide 52xx X 1200 monitor but I had to cut it down to 10FPS it run s like a dog. IO have GTX 1070

I also have a 4K monitor but I find better smoothness setting it to 2560X1440 and upscale to 110 Render. leaving at 4K and downscaling I have stutters.

What size is the monitor?  Before my current TV I had a 32” monitor at 2k which was great but at my current size 2k is blurry.
