Start\Settings\Apps\Find Gaming Services\Click Advanced Options\Select RESET.

Having done that, open Xbox app and you will see you are logged on. You may have to do that every time you start your PC.

now I was about to try this but got confused. I see that "reset" but I have a section reset with two options underneath, repair and reset. so do you mean reset - repair or reset - reset, the latter telling me that the data of the "app" will be deleted?!

Reset means reset. Repair means repair. You need to RESET. Simples. I do it every day and it works! Go with it, don't be scared.

Yup. It's the "in" thing nowadays.
The Gaming Services "reset" sequence seems as effective as any. Thanks for working this out.

That's similar cure to one posted earlier in this thread. This seems better in that I've had four consecutive PC boots/reboots where the Xbox app has started logged in. Having said that, 'my' method has had a similar success rate but reverted to playing silly buggers. I'll see how long Murphy's Method lasts.

Whilst I can see there are workarounds for this, does anyone have any idea what is causing the problem, why it is occurring and what the permanent solution might be? Is this something that MS need to fix or the MSFS team?

Ah. Well, certainly the Store bought version. I'm not sure about the Steam one. Perhaps someone could enlighten us?
