November 27, 20214 yr I don't think the grain shows when you are below the clouds. its only on the faces of taller cumulus when looking away from the sun (mostly) I believe that grain is simply the same texture used to create fringe (which looks good against a blue sky) as seen against a shadowy area of taller cumulus. The shorter cumulus seem to be blurred more which makes the grain unnoticeable. Edited November 27, 20214 yr by sightseer | Dave | I've been around for most of my life.
