This is my take on the latest information from other sites about the new Kodiak 100 release, which I've been following for ..since August. A representitive from SWS said today that the release will be from non-Marketplace and delayed by logistics to get an alternative download site available by then. I am believing them about this and look forward to this new plane in my hanger by December. See the MSFS forums for their update comments.  forums>third party> aircraft>..kodiak..

Some more good news in that thread, they have reconsidered their position on making it a Marketplace exclusive and won't be going down that route after all.

Ooops reading comprehension fail.  Yes that is good news can't stand the marketplace.

No problem of course!   Actually, reading through the thread at the official MSFS forums, it looks like they will release to the Marketplace AND somewhere else now as well, whereas it might have just been a marketplace exclusive originally.  Good news in any case.

Regarding stores, all arguments pertaining to the Marketplace are right. We will release elsewhere too.

Whatever the specifics on distribution, sounds like this baby is on short final. Really looking forward to it.

Update today on the Kodiak- from their FB page:

 

"A short update on the Kodiak:
-A couple of things left to iron out in the graphics department, wheeled variants are complete.
-We fell a bit behind schedule with the code and flight model. A few quirks remain to be ironed out.
- The plane will NOT be released before Sim Update 7: there will be changes to the flight model that may affect it, so we want to test it and tweak if needed before releasing
-Floatplane: Model completed, we are starting texture work. In the screenshot below you can get a look at the anti-slip surface at the top of the Aerocet 6650.
-Sounds done"
