Just wanted to thank you all for the comments. Picked up BATC over the weekend which is fantastic, and of course wanted to see the traffic injection so downloaded FSLTL and they work flawlessly together. I’m running modest settings, 4-2-2-4 and there’s plenty for me. Dropped the departure to 2 as there were too many planes asking for clearance, pushback, etc. Great stuff. Question….FSLTL didn’t allow me to pick the install directory so it defaults to the community folder, which is my D drive. It’s almost full and I want to move it to C drive and use an MSFS addon link to link it to the community folder. I assume this is fine but just want to confirm. Actually thinking of moving the whole community folder to C and using a link. Thanks again!

Right now I’m just using Simple Traffic which does what I want with zero impact on FPS but obviously the default, pointy models are horrible. I’m looking to get better models in the sim. I googled FSLTL performance last night and the results were not great. I do want live traffic so FST by itself will not work, though the consensus seems to be their models don’t impact frames as much as FSLTL. For me, with what’s available, I think the FST models with BATC is the way to go. Still figuring it out.

Funny you mention cargo aircraft Dave as I’m flying for KLM in A Pilot’s Life with the Fly Tampa scenery and both the huge cargo areas for KLM/Martinair are almost empty. I will further look into the amount of injected aircraft as a key variable in performance. You may have a point there. I’m just not looking to lose a single frame. That Schipol scenery is a perfect example. It’s working really well now, but if I lost 2-3 frames in some conditions, it wouldn’t be as good. I just unpacked all my cores so I’m looking better now, why I’m looking to add better traffic. Amazing the difference. Also, FST was $29.99 the last few days which got me a little interested. It’s now $39.99 so doesn’t look nearly as good. For $30 I can get BATC and FSLTL. I’m certain you like that idea much more.

Thanks guys, you make good points for FSLTL. In looking into this, there are somewhat mixed feelings on performance between the two, though FST seems like it might be better on frames by a small degree. And I’m really looking for the absolute smallest effect on fps, if any. System is 12700/3070/32gb with mostly high settings, some ultra, some medium.

I’m looking to upgrade my traffic and looking for something easy to install and doesn’t suffer much frame rate loss. So how is FS Traffic working now with its own injector, and what, if any, is the performance hit? If I pick this up, I’ll be looking to add BeyondATC in the not too distant furure as it looks as if these two work very well together. Appreciate any feedback.

As the title says. I promised myself I wouldn’t buy 2024 unless it released with fly by view. Googled this and saw mention at flight sim expo that in fact it should be in but haven’t been able to confirm. Thanks!

Agree! Love these airports in So Cal, especially L08, as this is where I soloed to during flight training from KHMT Hemet. Hint, hint…😉😉 Really appreciate these gems you’ve been releasing.

I’ve been having issues with the beta as well. I get lockups almost immediately when I hit the “Fly” button. I stopped using GAIST a few weeks ago and have not had a single issue since. Not happy about it as this was a primary add on that I really like to use. I’m on SU8.

Thanks for this…it ended up being a remnant from v1.0. It’s funny, been seeing a bunch of your beautiful ships all over the place, but there aren’t many in the Caribbean. Sometimes I’ll be up around KORS and there 4-6 ships in the area. All good! Just a fantastic addition and much appreciated. Your new work looks stunning!

Quick question, been flying in the Caribbean and have seen no ship traffic the last few days. Using Add-on Linker, it’s installed properly, as usual, but when I went into content manager, GAIST was “not installed.” What would cause that to happen? More importantly, how do I fix it? Appreciate any suggestions.

I hate to say it, but I'm not going to buy. I would love to support Flight, but I already have a slow two seater that can't do jobs. And besides, if I'm going to fly a two seater in Flight, 95% of the time I'll pick the RV. The Cub would last me just a few days until I shelved it. It's unfortunate because I really would like to support MS making VC equipped planes. From the start, I wasn't too excited about the Cub mainly for it's lack of capability as mentioned. Many have opined about $15 for just a VC, and I agree it's a bit too high, especially for the Cub. If we were talking about a more capable airplane that could move pax and cargo (Caravan, Kodiak, Beaver, etc) I'd be all over it. Oh well, maybe Flight will come out with some more attractive options to allow us to fly bigger and better jobs in the not too distant future, but for now, I'm not very optimistic about it.

OK boys, I just put an EVGA 670 (FTW) into my i7-920 (stock at 2.67) last weekend and it is a monster! It goes through Flight on max settings (density, shadows, everything max) without even a hiccup. It's tremendous. If you're on the fence, don't be. Go to Amazon or Newegg or wherever else you like to buy your computer goodies, and order it right now. You'll be absolutely thrilled with it, I promise. The images are gorgeous and as far as absolute total smoothness in Flight, well, if that's what you want, that's what you're going to get! :P FYI, I was coming from a gtx 285 so my performance increase was substantial. Still, if you don't have absolute total smoothness in Flight LOL, it can be obtained with the 670, even in the most forrested areas in Alaska at max settings. Agree we need more bush planes...at least one (for the time being) very capable plane that offers the flexibility to use floats and tundra tires...and skis too. I don't want to be too demanding. A Beaver or Kodiak...something capable of handling more pax and cargo.

I've been fairly successful getting happy pax, but I have a question about taxi speed. Anyone know what the maximum safe taxi speed is to keep happy pax? I'm usually taxiing around 10-13 kts.

Absolutely agree. Especially since every paint scheme has it's own Hobbs.

Have you ever flown one? The O-200 in the SkyCatcher I fly is pretty smooth, and overall a great flying airplane. Not as slippery/sporty as some LSAs I've flown, just very stable and fun to fly. Could use a little more leg room.

Can someone tell me where the Hobbs is located on the RV? Stearman? The Maule makes it very easy.I think I would prefer that the Hobbs keep track of total time flown in plane type (Maule,RV) as opposed to every paint scheme. For the Maule, I'm using the Red/Blue for cargo and gold for passengers.

Just a heads up to you guys that may not be aware, but nVidia is releasing brand new video cards in the upcoming weeks. The chip is named Kepler and the rumors are rampant. The initial cards are going to be named GTX 680 or GTX 670 Ti or something very similar. I'm eagerly waiting for these but they will be fairly pricey.

I thought the same thing but wasn't sure. Would love to see a SkyCatcher in Flight! Alaska pack with a 162 included, and a Twin Otter for $15? Just speculating...

Great suggestions. To add, how about a Quest Kodiak. I know I'm in the big minority on this, but I never liked the FSX version. Just seemed too twitchy for me.

I was thinking the Alps too. Northern Italy, Switzerland and Austria. Something like that. Maybe England/British Isles.
