August 27, 2025Aug 27 I’m looking to upgrade my traffic and looking for something easy to install and doesn’t suffer much frame rate loss. So how is FS Traffic working now with its own injector, and what, if any, is the performance hit? If I pick this up, I’ll be looking to add BeyondATC in the not too distant furure as it looks as if these two work very well together. Appreciate any feedback. Edited August 27, 2025Aug 27 by NismoRR
August 27, 2025Aug 27 Easy to install, no effect on performance, FSLTL, and it's free. Use it with BATC on every flight.
August 27, 2025Aug 27 For simplicity and ease of install FSLTL is the way to go, plus it's free. FS Traffic works and the models are ok, but I wouldn't say they are any better than those from FSLTL. Why pay to have less models and liveries? i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
August 27, 2025Aug 27 Author Thanks guys, you make good points for FSLTL. In looking into this, there are somewhat mixed feelings on performance between the two, though FST seems like it might be better on frames by a small degree. And I’m really looking for the absolute smallest effect on fps, if any. System is 12700/3070/32gb with mostly high settings, some ultra, some medium.
August 27, 2025Aug 27 I'm fairly certain that any gains in performance from FST is from it having less traffic displayed in your sim. Also, depending on what it means to you FST will have ZERO cargo aircraft. FSLTL is still severely lacking compared to AIG, but at least you'll see cargo traffic in the sim. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
August 27, 2025Aug 27 Author Funny you mention cargo aircraft Dave as I’m flying for KLM in A Pilot’s Life with the Fly Tampa scenery and both the huge cargo areas for KLM/Martinair are almost empty. I will further look into the amount of injected aircraft as a key variable in performance. You may have a point there. I’m just not looking to lose a single frame. That Schipol scenery is a perfect example. It’s working really well now, but if I lost 2-3 frames in some conditions, it wouldn’t be as good. I just unpacked all my cores so I’m looking better now, why I’m looking to add better traffic. Amazing the difference. Also, FST was $29.99 the last few days which got me a little interested. It’s now $39.99 so doesn’t look nearly as good. For $30 I can get BATC and FSLTL. I’m certain you like that idea much more. Edited August 27, 2025Aug 27 by NismoRR

If you want more than half a dozen ai aircraft at any given airport that is an impossibility regardless of what AI traffic setup you use. You have to fine tune it for your needs. Take the fps hit and give your airports some life. It's so much better with good traffic. Edited August 28, 2025Aug 28 by Dave_YVR i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
August 28, 2025Aug 28 Which program you use is going to have practically no difference in frames compared to how much traffic you have. If you are looking to save a few frames the only control you have is to limit the amount of traffic. AI traffic is a frames killer and there is no way around that besides turning it off or limiting it.
August 28, 2025Aug 28 I see little to no FPS hit with my FSLTL gate traffic set to 10 (max of 20 aircraft per airport). its enough to make me feel immersed and the airports to feel alive during taxi takeoff and landings. Right now I’m just using Simple Traffic which does what I want with zero impact on FPS but obviously the default, pointy models are horrible. I’m looking to get better models in the sim. I googled FSLTL performance last night and the results were not great. I do want live traffic so FST by itself will not work, though the consensus seems to be their models don’t impact frames as much as FSLTL. For me, with what’s available, I think the FST models with BATC is the way to go. Still figuring it out.
August 29, 2025Aug 29 It's not so much the models, but the liveries as many of the FSLTL paints are 4k, but easily reduced to 2k or even 1024kb textures. That being said, ANYTHING is better than Simple Traffic.. That was a complete joke of a product. Honestly, you'd be far better off just trying FSLTL before doing anything. It's free, and only takes a couple minutes to install. Remember FST has ZERO cargo and misses quite a lot elsewhere. The consensus also just look at their FPS and what they see around them, not comparing the actual number of aircraft within the injection radius around you. Less aircraft will of course give you more FPS. Edited August 29, 2025Aug 29 by Dave_YVR i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
September 3, 2025Sep 3 Author Just wanted to thank you all for the comments. Picked up BATC over the weekend which is fantastic, and of course wanted to see the traffic injection so downloaded FSLTL and they work flawlessly together. I’m running modest settings, 4-2-2-4 and there’s plenty for me. Dropped the departure to 2 as there were too many planes asking for clearance, pushback, etc. Great stuff. Question….FSLTL didn’t allow me to pick the install directory so it defaults to the community folder, which is my D drive. It’s almost full and I want to move it to C drive and use an MSFS addon link to link it to the community folder. I assume this is fine but just want to confirm. Actually thinking of moving the whole community folder to C and using a link. Thanks again! Edited September 3, 2025Sep 3 by NismoRR
