November 3, 20214 yr I'm trying to remove some scenery, but it's greyed out in the scenery library. How do I remove it? AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance 32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card
November 3, 20214 yr They should be added by add-on mode, you can try disable them in add-on manager.

Greyed out entries are usually required by the sim. Addon entries don’t appear in Scenery Library. Are you trying to remove a package you have bought or a default entry? Ray (Cheshire, England). November 3, 20214 yr Grayed out entries could also have been added via the addon.xml method. In that case they have to be enabled/disabled in the addon.xml To Ray's point they could also be default required scenery layers, what are you trying to remove? Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
November 3, 20214 yr Author They're not default. It's a payware add-on airport (DD KJFK). The manual states to uninstall, you have to remove it from the Scenery Library (but it's greyed out!). November 3, 20214 yr My "guess" is it is in your addon.xml I believe it is. I will fire up my P3D box in a minute and find the location for you. Still only 4:45 am here 🙂 I believe it should be here for you: %APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D V4/5 Edited November 3, 20214 yr by psolk Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

Thanks 🙂 Haha, 4:45 means I started work 45 minutes ago and only 15 hours to go until I wrap up 🙂 Once you find the addon.xml file you should see an entry for DD JFK. Change that from Enabled=Trued to Enabled=False That should disable it for you. If you can't find it let us know. I don't "think" it is a hidden file. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

November 3, 20214 yr There would (I think) be an addon.xml file for each addon airport that has been installed in that way. I am not an expert on the addon.xml method, as I prefer to install everything in the traditional way with P3Dv4. November 3, 20214 yr You should also have an add-ons.cfg in your /users/roaming/yourname/Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D V4/5 The Add-on.cfg will have all the scenery added via addon.xml method. In the add-ons.cfg you should see your DD JFK entry and be able to change it from true to false. Sorry not sure where the bold came from... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
November 3, 20214 yr Moderator There is a second add-ons.cfg located in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4/5. If the scenery has an entry Required=True that would make it greyed out. Can't see why 3rd party stuff would have that set. All mine is Required=False. Ray (Cheshire, England). Just for myself but in my case anything that has Active=True needs to be set to False in order to enable/disable it regardless of Required=True Anything in the add-ons.cfg that is active via Active=True shows as a greyed out entry if I try to enable/disable from within the sim. Just on my end, sounds like the OP may have something similar occurring. You also probably wouldn't notice if using SimStarter or a 3rd party scenery manager Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
November 3, 20214 yr Moderator @psolkhave we established if this scenery is in scenery.cfg or is an addon? I use Addon Organizer as you do as well as SimStarterNG and am very conscious of layering my scenery in an orderly manner. Most new stuff will just place itself at the top of the pile which isn't always best if you like all your company scenery together. He really needs to install Addon Organizer from here. https://www.lorby-si.com/downloads.html Ray (Cheshire, England).
