Big stutters on short final

There was a recent tip this week about turning Photogrammetry off. Have you tried this? That also helped me to eliminated those dreaded final short stutters.

I suppose I can give it a try.  Do you feel with it off that the sim isn't as nice looking graphically?

I would turn off all of your AI including the airport objects, etc.  I think some of the stutters I've experienced on final are due to loading in the AI traffic and all the ground clutter....might be worth a try.  It's probably not photogrammetry if you have it on short final only....

And I saw you are using AIG...that is likely a huge culprit, I had to stop using it as it was just too much of a hit for me, especially at the big airports (KATL, KORD, etc).

Ironically I had a smooth experience into FSDT ORD with Drzweicki Chicago into 27R at dusk.... I was shocked.  However, landing at ORBX KSAN was close to impossible with the stutters.  LGA was smooth on approach but very stuttery from about 4000-2000.  Who knows... I think it must be hot or miss with my specs and settings

What's your AIG injection rate?

Well, I actually didn't have time to compare with photogrammetry turned on and off, as I've discovered this tip only a week ago in this thread. Personally I haven't noticed any changes graphically, but it needs testing. And it actually helped, I see no stutters on final now. Those stutters on short final were introduced after SU5 in my system, before that everything was pretty smooth, although the overall fps increased greatly after SU5, that's for sure. It should be mentioned that as far as I know there's a limited number of cities in MSFS using photogrammetry feature - about 340 or more, you can google this info.

I believe it is 100.  Is the injection rate essentially how many planes are injected into the sim?  So putting at 50 would cut the traffic in half?

Drop it to 80 or below and see if you're getting the stutters on final. Yes, it will take it down a notch.

I know this sounds terrible to some, but for me it feels like performance is smoother with photogrammetry off with the side benefit of the terrain not having abrupt color differences between areas with and without photogrammetry.

And to retain that look of distinctive downtowns I have a variety of Orbx city packages, Drzweicki cities, and others freeware and payware...it seems like a good compromise for me as what I want most of all is for things to be SMOOTH.

And it’s easy enough to turn photogrammetry back on if I want to fly around my native Wisconsin which is blessed with a lot of photogrammetry for some reason, even my local Sheboygan.
