L-39 Questions and Thoughts??

How do those of you who have purchased this plane like it?

So as you may have gathered, I bought a single from the bundle - 'Drop Bear' for ~ $10USD.

I am not an expert but I enjoyed the Lotus Sim L39 in FSX, nor have I put it through its paces. That said, it's quite good so far. Exterior textures are very nice. Cockpit texturing is mostly excellent with the exception of the instrument panel and the front canopy frame, which look out of place (like they cheaped out at the last minute). A decent number of switches work, but not all. As per other MS aircraft, the canopy doesn't open. Sounds are fairly good.. even some turbulence sounds if you AOA gets too high. It's easy to fly (less demanding than the Lotus Sim, which will suit some) but still takes some work. Overall, I'd say comparable to default aircraft. I'm happy with it for the price.

Presumably it's encrypted so even if you bought another WITH analogue gauges you couldn't get the steam dials into #69?

Good looking and that's it. I won't recommend it since we've got an F/A-18 for free if you want a jet.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THE FULL COLLECTION, no matter how much, it's too much.

Thanks for the input esp. RE checking out the pics for cockpit details.

I bought “Pipsqueak” and am in love After a quick flight around the Seattle area...what a fun little jet!!

A good purchase, and maybe there will be Community repaints and if not only $10.

The only thing a bit strange is the pilot has a baseball cap and sunglasses on, I’d think you’d need a flight suit and helmet with oxygen or something but who knows...fighters are definitely not something I normally think about.

You need default pilot avatar set to get the 'proper' flight outfit 🙂

For 40 planes it's a good deal.

I won't personally buy it. I'm going to get the 4 basic plane bundle at some point. I don't need all the variants.

Very nice!!

I’m sure enjoying my L39 Pipsqueak today.

If you get 'Tumbling Goose' you also get a Pilot + Copilot with their legs sticking down though the bottom of the fuselage!
