WOW!!!  I got it to work smoothly - I changed the setting in game from DX11 to DX12 BETA just to see what would happen and it is smooth!!!  DX11 is unplayable for me.  Makes no sense as everyone is saying DX12 is word not allowed!

Now a side note - I am not a PC tech master - how would I fine tune my RAM, CPU and GPU to boost my performance?

Appreciate how helpful everyone is!!

Ok. That’s really strange that DX12 works better for you. Really really really strange.

For tuning of

CPU: google PBO2 + Ryzen 5000, there are good videos on YouTube about it too

GPU: google Afterburner + 3080ti

RAM: Google XMP or Ryzen DRAM Calculator  but your timings look ok in 3D Mark for the start

but beware. Tuning takes a lot of time and trys 🙂

I restarted the program and now there are base line mappings for the buttons.  Wish me luck!  And Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I guess it's official after XBOX's release every reference to the Flight Simulator is 'game'.  I feel like others your system should be able to run the 'Simulator' without issue.  I just cringe at where our hobby may be headed if this terminology continues to be accepted.

oh man give it a rest!  The guy is new, needs help and you berate him for calling it a game.  Geez like he is going to come back for help with comments like this.

I have a thrustmaster 1600 and a throttle with it.  Should I use these?  The problem is when I hook them up it recognizes them but none of the buttons are premapped.  Is there a way to download a map or something that is intuitive to use or do I have to customize it myself?  Thank you!!!  Graphis look amazing!

Great news...and a surprise about the DX12, but there you go!

Yes - the thrustmaster 1600 and throttle work great - and plenty of spare buttons.  Yes - you need to set the bindings but it's fairly quick and easy to set up at least the basics.  I bind the roll, pitch, yaw, throttle, yaw trim, elevator trim, airbrakes, landing gear and flaps and that covers most of the flying stuff.  The mouse control (I use the legacy setting) is also pretty good...even in VR.

  • 3 weeks later...

I literally had the same issue with a brand new install of this game from the MS games store using the $1 for 3 months, thu my hardware isnt as beefy (3600/32gb/1tb ssd/8gb rtx 2070) I tried so many different videos and suggestions on changing various settings....

Until I stumbled across this thread by complete accident (almost clicked off the google search results lol) .... got to the part where he changed to DX12 Beta ... 20 mins later once I had loaded in (it literally was that unresponsive lol) I managed to change the setting and restarted.... absolute day and night hahahaha! I am so happy right now I have 60fps running on optimal settings at 1440p 😂😂😂 ... TY to the OP for your hard work mate!
