The Catalan tradition of feeding it and then the kids beating it until it poops turròn had me laughing so hard when I heard the story. You can find them everywhere in Barcelona during Christmas time at the Christmas markets. Probably a lot of American’s haven’t heard about the Caga Tio. December 3, 20214 yr Author Administrators Give that man a seegar! On our last trip to Girona and then to Cere, France, we learned about Caga Tio (pooping uncle). My brother-in-law was so fascinated he made several of them for himself and friends. He gets put out every Christmas season. The one in my photo I picked up at a Christmas market in Barcelona. Mines pretty small as I didn’t want to have to lug a big one back on the plane. I hope your Caga Tio poops plenty of turròn for you to snack on this Christmas. 😂😂 Btw, the only time I’ve ever seen reference to the Caga Tio in the US was on an episode of Anthony Bourdain.
