I genuinely laughed out loud.

thanks for that!

Yep from a company that releases airbuses with no fonts,

crjs that take 7 years and still can't fly in straight lines,

airports with wrong runways, and ils with no frequencies,

High end addons like that.....

Hi.  I came across this information from Drzewiecki Design, who gave the actual percentage of its P3D customer base in their forum:

This is the first time I have seen numbers shared by a major 3rd party developer on the percentage of users in their customer base.  It would have been nice if Drzewiecki Design also shared the percentage of MSFS users and XP users but unfortunately, I did not see it in that thread.

It would be nice if other 3rd party devs also shared their customer base makeup so we could compare it to Drzewiecki Design.

Disclaimer: I don't own P3D (I own MSFS) - I am not here to antagonize the posters in this forum so if this post does that, the mods can delete it.  I'm just interested in discussing the current PC home user flight simulation market, with objective data.

So, I don't get the point and if this has any "scientific" and mathematical credibility. How big is data base? How about GSX or FT numbers for example...?If they are same than this could be taken accurate. With all due respect he's products are not nearly appealing as let's say FT and that might have effect.  And yes I own some but....

We have all received NAVIGRAPH poll and let's stick with it.

My 5 cents

I don't want to mistrust the developer when they offer numbers like that and I appreciate that they do at all. But I think it takes a bit more to convince me that P3D users are only 4% of their user base. I mean, yes, MSFS is probably a real cash cow for now, but so much that P3D users (after considering XP users as well) are almost negligible to the whole picture? That sounds like too stark a contrast to me, especially considering the sheer number of P3D addons they offer while, as far as I would guess, most aren't available for MSFS yet. Also, FT saying that sold units weren't actually as much as everyone thought they would be sounds like the complete opposite of the number given by DD. Then again, I'm just sitting here on the outside so the answer to who knows is certainly not me.

Is it I or me in my last sentence? It's I as I'm the subject right? Someone help!

Personally, I use XPL, P3D.. and 'the other one'  They all have very stong pros and cons and that has been talked about ad nausem so I'll try to get to my point - While I want nothing more than great devs to support as many sim platforms as possible, my own take-away from this kind of datapoint example from DD is that if you want to run your addon as a business (i.e. make as much money as possible with as few resources as possible) it's really just shouting at you as to where to allocate the resources and energy at this particular moment.

Slightly off-point - One possibility would be that while there is a 'drought' of sorts currently happening with our dear P3D, if enough MSFS end-users were to become 'tired' of its regular online glitches / interuptions of service and jump on to the offline-friendly and not too shabby at all P3D (and XPL, but thats for another forum) that might give some of the 'on the fence / luke warm' devs enough of a reason to look at re-balancing their resources while MSFS gets it -proverable- together with a fully stable platform and with the tools devs can work with? MSFS is pretty dev-resource hungry due to every other update require devs to re-visit past products and make them compatible with said other update. This in particular leaves a bitter taste for me as I would like to think these devs could be allocating time to working on P3D products if they were'nt having to constantly hand-hold their MSFS back-catalog to remain compatible.
