Is it possible to increase the frame rate in the overhead...

Featured Replies

...map in the G3000 equipped planes?  It's the middle glass display in the shot below.  I have Glass Cockpit Refresh Rate on HIGH, but it does not affect the middle overhead display

As a sidenote--this snow representation is really fabulous!  KTVL...

Not certain what it is that you wish to fix.  That middle display as you referred to it is the MFD (multi-function display).  I see you have some unusual patterns in your display.  Those may be caused by the Bijan Multi-Season addon's Experimental Terrain Masks.  I have for the time being deselected them (using Addons Linker) so they do not load.  The G1000NXi MFD then displays the terrain page as it should.

Visit the "Known issues.txt file" he provided for more information.  You will find that .txt file in each of these folders:

Bijan Terrain Masks NH - Experimental - Read known issues
Bijan Terrain Masks SH - Experimental - Read known issues

I think he's looking to improve the frame rate on the MFD, not fix the Bijan display bug.

@NoelIf the sim-setting for glass cockpit doesn't alter it, then I don't know what does.   If you have the WT G3000 going, maybe they can answer that question.  Have you tried with the default G3000?  Does the glass cockpit display setting affect the default G3000?

Humm.  I never noted any recent FR issues with the MFD.  Not even back when I had a 1070 Ti as my GPU (<SEP 2021).

I don't notice any frame rate issues with it either.  I have low expectations though, from the old days lowwww fps

I think by overhead he means top-down view. Maybe the glass panel refresh rate setting doesn't control the update rate when showing that top-down view. Would be a good question for Working Title folks.

Thanks all.  As Mace said, I'm looking to increase the frame rate of the middle display (MFD). Its refresh rate is maybe 10, whereas the 2 side glass displays are fast enough to be very smooth, so perhaps at my setup's locked 30 frame rate.  The is the default plane and avionics, not the WT.  The Glass Cockpit Refresh Rate in options does control the refresh rate of the side glass displays.

Also, I'm frankly not sure when this started.  I know for many months I'm pretty sure it wasn't happening because it's quite noticeable especially when turning on the taxiway.  I want to say maybe after SU5?  Just don't know when it actually started.

looking down from above...as in the view shown on the MFD.

Not sure, but isn't that how the real MFDs are working? I dont think they are anywhere near 30 or even 60FPS in real life. The map refreshes every half second or so?

Seems like about right here could be I just wasn't aware it's supposed to be that way.  It's fortunately only obvious when turning sharply while moving forward or pushing back.
