December 13, 20214 yr Hi I am looking for the fastest available plane with a 530 on board, as well as a fully functional autopilot. I have the JF Turbo Arrow for instance, it has the 530, but the autopilot is fairly limited. Plane is decent...it's not very in depth - it's Carenado but I still enjoy it. Mod makes it slightly too powerful imo. I'd rather have that though haha. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
December 13, 20214 yr The M20R is an awesome plane. It makes you feel like you flying as you are working the steam guages. You can set up an IFR plan in stormy weather and use VORs-NDBs-ILS etc and with careful monitoring of the frequencies and guages ets touch down right on the runway. Learning VOR intercepts is also fun. Its pretty much the only plane I use right now. I would recommend getting a stream deck using FlightTracker and grab a profile off Flightsom.to. You can also get a cheap Adurino Mega Clone and grab some digital rotary encoders and make a fun AutoPilot panel to fly the heading bug and rotate the VORSs. Its makes flying the mooney a blast. I'd skip using the GNS 530 and go straight to using the GTN750 mod. 5 MHz 8087 IBM Clone, 640k RAM, 10 MB HD, Hercules 64k Graphics card, 14 in Monochrome Monitor, CH Products Mach-1 Joy Stick.

I'd skip using the GNS 530 and go straight to using the GTN750 mod. I fly mainly in VR so no Streamdeck for me... I already use my Saitek panel (blindly) for the FMS knobs of the 1000Nxi, so will program it with SPAD.next also for the 530. I bought the M20R now esp for the 530 (use it also in the DC6 sometimes). I also have the 750, which I sometimes use in the JF Piper Arrow. December 13, 20214 yr I have been using the Trinidad TB21 (turbo) from LionHeart and can recommend it, I have been flying the Mooney as well but prefer the TB, obviously very subjective on my part because I have hundred of hours on the TB in real world and a lot less on the M20R... This is a steam gauge airplane with the Garmin 530 set with mod and full autopilot. December 13, 20214 yr Author Ah, thanks for the tip m8. But I even already own the F14 Tomcat, so speed itself is already in the house.
