December 24, 20214 yr Has anyone else experienced stutters in "windowed mode" but smooth as can be in "Full Screen" mode which is actually a borderless window mode? I can toggle the behavior back and forth with great regularity. I'm running with: 497.29 Nvidia drivers and a RTX 2080ti. I run with EA on but no volumetric clouds and use ChasePlane, ASP3D, ASCA and Orbx Global, LC, Regions as well as Orbx and Flightbeam airports. It doesn't seem to matter what is activated or not. Also I have disabled full screen optimizations etc... and run Win 10. I did not experience this with v5.2 it started after the initial update to v5.3 and has held consistant through the last two hotfixes. Everything runs exceptional with the exception of stutters in windowed mode other than that I love v5.3 now. December 24, 20214 yr Commercial Member Yes, I’ve struggled with windowed mode and stutters since v4. Even with a 5900x and 3080. Have never been able to find the right combination of AM, NCP, and other settings unfortunately. Always have some level of stuttering on my system, including Gsync 144 Hz panel. I run a native 30 Hz 4K TV using Vsync and TB so I can pretty easily maintain 30 FPS with no mouse lag. I’ve experimented with frame locks also 30 in NCP but the way I’ve been running it for years seems best for me. I believe you may be running the same way. I believe you may be running the same way. If you have a display capable of 30Hz you can ignore NCP. My BenQ supports 30Hz which is ideal. I feel it might be associated with EA which also turns on HDR. I run with EA Off so try that just to rule it in or out. Ray (Cheshire, England). December 24, 20214 yr Author Hi Ray, Your original suggestion was the cause on my sim it is Triple Buffering in the sim, when On stutters in windowed mode but not in full screen (borderless) when turned off all is good in both modes. I do have a native 30 Hz TV and run Vsync in the sim with Unlimited frames and up until now TB which has always given me a smooth 30 FPS performance. I had never experienced the windowed mode stuttering until v5.3 but turning off TB works and the visuals and smoothness are still excellent without it. BTW I like the new EA with volumetric clouds turned off and I use ASP3D with ASCA in Dynamic mode and it looks very good and more realistic finally in my opinion. Also I don't find any performance issues with EA or HDR on could be my RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 vs your GTX 1080 Ti perhaps.. Thanks again for the suggestions and Merry Christmas! I suggested it as I had a similar problem with the Xtreme Learjet 25 when viewing from the cabin windows. Odd problem but easily solved. 👍 Having EA on means HDR is too. Dark VC makes it undesirable. I stopped using it in P3Dv3 as Lefteris advised it would only work with very old Nvidia drivers. Ray (Cheshire, England). I got it when I purchased my FSLabs A320 a long time ago and use it with that aircraft but I setup profiles for all aircraft and it works very well and I'm running 497.29 Nviida drivers. Once you understand how to add lamps and point them where you want coupled with dozens of adjustments for each lamp you can create a very nice cockpit lighting scheme as well as have different tones for day and night. Bottom line it has always worked for me on all my add-ons and default P3D aircraft and I love it. You can also toggle it on and off in the drop down menu.
