FSX Steam SE planes ported over very nicely...

Featured Replies

Here's some from FSX Steam SE flying in P3D...very smooth, full virtual cockpits, and fully spot/click functional....Lear 45...and such, very much enjoying my 'new aircraft stash' in P3D!

Well, the ONLY thing I have found that does NOT work in all ported over cockpits...is that I can't 'hide' the yoke by passing the mouse over any part of it....  So,  you can still mouse over the switches and knobs, and it will show you what's behind the yoke, but as far as I can tell, you can't hide the yoke, unless there is an actual keyboard key sequence that does hide or bring up the yoke...and that, I don't know at present...but what a haul!   LOL, and everything looks great...inside, outside...and you just have to own Steam FSX SE.

Wow...the sound engine of P3D blows away the old FSX module.   The whine of the Lear's second stage (which you see is lit up...) sounds awesome!

Heh, yeah, I did a few myself, the flying kite and the C172.

On the C172 I added an FMS.

Ryzen 5800X clocked to 4.7 Ghz (SMT off), 32 GB ram, Samsung 1 x 1 TB NVMe 970, 2 x 1 TB SSD 850 Pro raided, Asus Tuf 3080Ti

P3D 4.5.14, Orbx Global, Vector and more, lotsa planes too.

John, you should hear the engine sounds from the FSX Steam SE planes...wow...sounds NOTHING like running them within FSX SE.  All the virtual cockpits look great, the sun splashes across the instrument panels as native P3D `sleds, and I have everything available to me, that was in the custom Steam version...for they added planes over the years.  I had it uninstalled...and wanted primarily to get the virtual cockpit of the Beaver...but then decided to copy over everything.  I thought that the  cockpits would have non-displaying textures and graphics, or the instruments would not function...even the Glass Panels...but nope...every switch, every knob...all instruments and glass functions...and the turbine's of the King Air is a special aural treat.  I also have the environment sound injector (Accu-Feel)...that adds great ambiance to the mix...all working...and each plane has been picked up by that program...and I have set all to what I want...level or feature.  My v5.3 HF1 LF working environment just ROCKS now...you could not pull my P3D install, out of my cold dead hands....nope.

So we can totally fill up your HD’s , I have used this scenery company to fill in the TE gaps for the Western USA https://www.blueskyscenery.com/download.html

My C.C. thanks you...LOL!  Going to take a look....BTW,  every few seconds, now...my  attempt to download and install my last of my purchases...T.E. Southern California...Central is having a stroke...many download disconnects and interruptions. It is being installed as I type...but a little more slowly then the others that I picked up this morning. I think what I might have said about the 40 percent off sale..and that counting on Orbx to 'always be there'....well...I think it might have gotten lurkers thinking....and ponying up....  Central is having fits...lol, right now as I type this for T.E. products downloads...

John, how does the BlueSky photoreal color textures play nice with  Orbx, where they will butt up?  Your comments....?

Out of interest how do you port over the aircraft from FSX to P3D?  have both FSX and P3D 4.,5

All you really have to do, Dazkent, is to move all the SimObject Airplane folders into your same mentioned folder within P3D 4.5.   Now...I used the Steam SE version....and got a total success of all the plane textures and the virtual cabins, as well as all cockpit functionality. The only thing that seems to not respond to the mouse 'move over object' is the yoke itself.  You can still have control of all the switches and knobs behind the yoke that obstructs their view...the mouse over works and comes up to describe them...but I am going to see if there is a keyboard press sequence that will remove the yoke, so you can see what is behind it, as you sit in the pilot's seat.   I'm not sure if you can successfully port over your FSX (legacy) aircraft into 4.5 and all works. Only you will be able to tell us that...   Like I said, I do know, that putting Steam FSX SE aircraft into P3D v5.3.HF1 LF DOES indeed port over with 100 percent success other than the yokes not being able by mouse cross over to be made to disappear. At least not on my system...

Good luck

Have fun, for there is no cost to you.  I can say though, that if one has STEAM FSX SE and also P3D v5.3 HF1 LF...that SimObject/Airplanes Folder port over marriage will work, very nicely, for some really great legacy aircraft produced over the last 40 years.... 🙂I have been flying the Bombardier Lear 45 ever since having ported over. It looks killer, sounds killer and flys killer in v5.3 HF1 LF.

I only used UT and AZ to try out , so there was no overlap with TE products .

How did the purchases you made, John, affect your FPS at your same settings you always used within v4.5?  The reason that I asked abut v4.5 was because T.E. Washington was a flame thrower for FPS in my version of that.  I swapped it out for another purchase.  T.E. Florida was not great, but at least I could fly it...until this latest version came out...whereby T.E. Florida is now utter smooth animation, that pretty much stays at (hovering) at my locked 33 FPS using nVidia driver Mask.

So, if you tell me that BlueSky ran well FPS lubricated in v4.5...I know without doubt it will ride beautifully on my system + current P3D.
