Did I destroy my FSX scenery with TileProxy?

Featured Replies

Yesterday I decided to try out TileProxy to see what all the fuss was about, but when I started FSX/TileProxy the tiles were blurred messes so I decided to uninstall TileProxy, thinking I ought to wait until it is out of beta to use it again. But after I did that most of my scenery has since dissapeared. I have almost nothing left save for a strip of scenery from Alaska to New Zealand and Russia. Heres the kicker: I have reinstalled the game 3 times, that includes removing all config files and deleting EVERYTHING in the FSX folder. I just don't get it. I am stumped beyond belief. Someone help me before I go insane. Just to make it clear, I don't think its TileProxy's fault, rather my own incompetence.

Unfortunately, I already did that. I have 25 entries according to the scenery manager, the first one is Addon scenery and the last is Default Terrain.

You must have deleted the world folder. I would suggest reinstalling it-then load your scenery manager and uncheck all the world folders-shot shown below. That way you can give it another try-and revert easily back to your default scenery.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171383.jpg

At this point, I don't care about TileProxy...I just want my scenery back. I have almost no scenery, even after reinstalling the game 3 times now. And the scenery I do have is completely screwed up I can't even begin to describe it.

I think if you do as I say you will get your scenery back. Have you also unloaded the tileproxy filter driver?Hopefully if this doesn't work Christian can help you out when he wakes up-me I am headed for sleep.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

uninstalling FSX will leave behind the FSX folder and the world folder. You need to go to C:Program FilesMicrosoft Games and delete the entire FSX folder manually. The reinstall of FSX is using the old world folder from the previous install that never got deleted.

Same thing happened to me...I tried deleting the entries in the scenery.cfg (first uninstalled the file loader thingy) and all I got was a bunch of repeating textures all over the earthHas anyone successfully uninstalled this program yet?I know its beta, so it's kinda "at your own risk" thingy but hopefully a GUI will come out soonAnyway, I had to reinstall FSX

Yeah, thats what I had. What process did you go through to uninstall everything? I uninstalled FSX and deleted the whole folder. I'll install it again in the morning, gotta go to bed now.

I had the same problems with scenery - had to re-install, ende up with a lot of golf courses ;-) I had to use regseeker to uninstall it properly - but the legacy entries stayed in the registry.Looks like it only likes certain computer set-ups - Christian will sort it out for us.Nice program

I already did that 3 times... I just tried it again after deleting EVERYTHING in the folder and I still am missing 95% of the default scenery every time I install it. Can someone please tell me how the #### that is possible? How can it not install all the scenery after everything is deleted and I'm doing a completely clean install?

Deleting just the FSX folder may not be enough.Your scenery.cfg in C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftFSX is still may have some broken settings.Have you tried deleting scenery.cfg before reinstalling FSX?
