NVIDIA EXPECTS CHIP SHORTAGE TO END THIS YEAR

Featured Replies

Pretty sure the previous forecast had the chip shortage ending by the fourth quarter of 2021.  I am firmly in the camp of "I will believe it when I see it".

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

Let's not forget inflation, which has become a major problem here in the states.

All of the Microcenter's around me have AMD cards stacked from the floor to ceiling.   No Nvidia cards higher than a 1650.

There are plenty sitting on Ebay though.    So basically,   Nvidia has to produce enough to surpass scalper demand or nothing changes.    They'd have to saturate the market with more cards than there are buyers,  which would take an allocation of resources.    I will believe it when I see  it.  Until then,  I call shens.

/I have a Strix 3090 that just died from the red light of death,   so I'm waiting on the RMA process.     Now would be a good time for the generation to arrive.

I see AMD cards here too. On paper they look in the same class as the Nvidia but with the low relative demand I'm wondering if there is a difference?
