Some advice for Addon LSGG Geneva P3DV5 appreciated

Recommended Posts

I'd also recommend Aerosoft LSGG, it's just much more actual.

Indeed, Aerosoft support really sucks, but that's how it is. There are two issues (ILS, SODE), both solutions are in the Aerosoft forum. That "nice" guy with the three letter name at Aerosoft doesn't even bother to make a new installer, he let's everyone run into it. Sad, but true.

The FSDT version is outdated and unoptimised, but I still find it works well enough for my purposes, at the very least the installer natively supports v5 and I haven't had to modify it at all.

Not great but minimal faff required.

Don't forget that you can run any FSDT scenery in demo mode for some minutes. That should give you some time to have a look at the airport in slew mode.

But Rafal and Dan summed it up perfectly. My vote also goes to the Aerosoft version.

Why would you spend money on an airport with the wrong runway numbers for example and that hasn't and isn't optimised for for p3dv5.

Save your money.

In case anyone is looking for it, there's a beta tester update for LSGG.

Highly recommend you try before you buy first.
There's a 5-minute demo when you do a full installation of it. Entering a purchased licence code just removes the time limit.

@F737NG, I was completely unaware of that update for FSDT Geneva. But having extracted the contents of both zips to the LSGG\Texture folder I'm still seeing 04/22 on the runways. I haven't run the Update so don't understand why they're still showing the old numbers.

I have changed the AFCAD to 05/23.

There's such a mismatch of data on the web for Geneva with some charts showing 04/22 and others 05/23. I use Aivlasoft's EFB as my reliable source as they use real world data.

The correct designation is 04 / 22. So the textures are correct. I just need to change the AFCAD.

Why? Latest data from Navigraph shows 04/22.

Depends what your standards are I guess, wong runway numbers don't upset me much (and with the update posted that is no longer an issue). Optimisation isn't great but the flying I've done so far in v5 has been fine on the fps front. Main complaints are outdated texturing and lack of DL, which isn't a dealbreaker for me.

I should however note that I bought the scenery a good few years ago when it was considered more up to date (i.e. before the runway number change); I haven't tried the others so I won't go beyond elaborating on my own experiences.

And the ils freq needs to be changed too if I remember correctly.

They have been as they match those in Aivlasoft’s EFB.

They match the frequencies on Navigraph as well, flew in with the BAe 146 the other day and no problems.
