The 'final' atmospheric decision has been made, LOL!

I have been for about a month 'hang wringing' and flipping between the clear 'out to the far mountains 50 miles out' of not running with E.A. on...but....(and here's my hand wringing...)   as much as I love to see all the 'candy' clear out 50 miles...it JUST AIN'T R.L.   I know...that...and have finally today with flying HF2...decided that I will always now fly with E.A. as enabled.  It does, look R.L.   and I admit, so many times in real life flying...that there are many days, even in so called 'clear sky'...that your vision to the ground is disturbed by hazy atmospherics, especially on hot and humid Summer days.  So...if I want to see what' 'there' is 50 miles away in Orbxville...I will have to now FLY TO IT.   Oh my...what a chore!

So...fly close, and rubber neck, in Real Life views...rather than be lazy and do a virtual 360...on a straight flight path, with E.A. off.

Now..to go out and buy the P3D Otter 100 (WITH FLOATS!)....it's gonna be another semi-retarded, er...semi-retired day flying the new Otter 100, and avoiding anything my wife threatens to add to the 'Honey Do' list...if I don't soon leave the Den....!!!

Yes I just picked up today, Aerosoft's Twin Otter 100/300 Extended,  for P3D v4, which can be installed also in v5.x, and have been enjoying the whole package, wheel models, pontoon, amphibian (both wheels and pontoon) .

Cheers, Rob.

There are some pics of my first plop down, near the Maldives...in my Twin Otter post...just after those few snaps, I almost toasted the right Pratt....not a pretty sight...lol.

Maybe the "right Pratt" was in the cockpit?

Sorry, I couldn't resist

Don't get your humor...?!?

It was a joke, Mitch. No offence intended. I am betting that you have a lot more knowledge about flying than I do.

I just didn't get the joke, Chris.  I'll bet you that I don't...but, I can say that I was once at the controls (co-pilot's seat) of a Lear Jet, over mid-Kentucky at 41,000 feet.  My friend (passed away now) was a Corporate Pilot for a major company, that had to go up for a cabin window re and re pressure test, so invited me for the flight.  We climbed to FL410, and then he said how would I like (knowing I was a flight sim head) to actually take control (with his fingers not one inch from his yoke, lol) of the Lear, and he would instruct me to bank right, and bank left, while keeping altitude, which I did...then a slow decent 500 feet and then a rise of 500 feet, before A.T.C. contacted us...and that was a thrill of my lifetime, let me tell ya....  I actually 'flew' a Lear Jet for all of five minutes...before I heard, "I have control" in my left ear.....

I burned the PMDG Jetstream 41 engines when I first tried to start it up, so I am familiar with turboprop BBQs

The real P.I.t.A. was the Start Locks of the prop feather levers.  on the Otter. Nowhere does it say how to un-lock, and found out by a Net search on that you have to put the two throttle levers into reverse Beta and wait for a thrust peak, then move them back to idle. Then, you can place them out of full flat, to nominal.  I want to be able to fire up the Pratt's as fast as I see the Maldivian Water Taxi Captains complete the task...I'm already using the pedals 'barefoot'....lol. I just wish that the Maldives were more (in P3D) than truly sand bar islands...but I have not looked on line yet, to see if anybody has produced a detailed scenery of the island chains.  P3D has beautiful water masks (shallow reef and coral) in the whole area of that part of the Indian Ocean.  It's just that right now...the Maldives, are (in P3D) basically treeless and auto-gen(less) sand bars... Orbx Global, HD Trees doesn't seem to even touch them...

Post Edit: I see that Aerosoft has the Maldives X, but in looking at it...sort of between FS9 and FSX'ish...   So...will stick with the default and use my own 'auto-gen Jedi Mind Trick generator....'
