There could be a new DC-3 in our sim . . . soon

Recommended Posts

For me the old 3 is special. When a lad I flew on an Ozark DC 3 from Cedar Rapids Iowa to Chicago. I remember looking out the window at the wing and seeing oil streaks and not sure what to make of that.

We seemed to have stopped at every little airport along the way as well.

And, I think, they own a real one.

I have always wondered this as well.  You own one, you could easily have access to it - why not create a PMDG level of a DC3?  Not my sort of plane but if they literally made a virtual version I'd partake.

This is one leg of the flight to Normandy with Robert playing the actor when inviting Matt to fly with him in the DC-3.  There are several more videos posted along the way and after arriving in Europe.

I flew on an NAC DC-3 from Wellington to Palmerston North in 1965.

Window seat over the wing.

I remember the wing top surface was composed of individually riveted? metal sheets & each sheet flexed & rippled in its own way during buffeting aloft. Fascinating to watch.

I also remember, the aircraft, being a tail dragger, that getting to my seat felt like I was climbing stairs

The DC-3 has a special place in many sim flyer's memories.

Can't arrive in MSFS soon enough.

And, where is this DC-3 now? Or has the topic starter some strange definition of "soon"? 😂

Lol, okay. Come back in August then. Tired of hype, need to see more actual good planes for the sim. /Thread.

No hype here, just a simple early notice that one is being seriously considered This should be one of the better ones in the sim.

Did you actually expect to hear a plane will be built and 17 hours later expect to fly it?  Geez Louise.
