February 1, 20224 yr Installing two different Garmin GTN750 Trainers: First, I want to verify that it is possible to install two different Garmin GTN750 Trainers? One to be used with RealityXP GTN750 Touch One to be used with F1 GTN750 Garmin Trainer version 3.2.3.0 for RealityXP GTN 750 Touch * This Garmin Trainer is installed and working properly in P3D4.5HF3 and P3D5.3 HF2 with RXP GNT750 Touch Garmin Trainer version 2.7.1.0 for F1 GTN750 On my setup this trainer is required for: Alabeo PA31 Alabeo C310R Flysimware C441 I read the Reality XP users manual page 22 : Installing Multiple Garmin Trainers but have a few questions: 1. Install the trainer for the Reality XP GTN Touch * I assume this would be the current Garmin Trainer version 3.2.3.0 , correct? 2. Copy the "sim" folder located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GTN Trainer\GTN\sys\" to the location of your choice , or rename it for example to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GTN Trainer\GTN\sys\sim (6210)\" * I do not have a "sim" folder located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GTN Trainer\GTN\sys\ * some of my available paths are: C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS Trainer C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS Trainer\GNS C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS Trainer\Manuals C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Launcher C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\bin C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\data 3. Copy the "GTN Trainer Data" folder located in "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\" to another location, or just rename it to something like: "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GTN Trainer Data (6210)" * I do not have a GTN Trainer Data folder located in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\ * some of my available paths are: C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GNS Trainer Data C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GNS Trainer Data\GNS C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\GTN C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Launcher 4. Add the following 2 environment variables in Windows: name = GTNSIMPATH value = the path to the 'sim' folder you have chosen above name = GTNAPPDATA value = the path to the 'data' folder you have chosen above for example: GTNSIMPATH="C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GTN Trainer\GTN\sys\sim (6210)\” GTNAPPDATA="C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GTN Trainer Data (6210)" * I will have to read up on understanding and doing this on my WIN11 setup. February 1, 20224 yr Why are you attempting to do this? You do realize that with the RXP GTN 750 you have (2) 750's available, _1 and _2. So you can use (2) in an aircraft. Why are you attempting to mix and match? February 1, 20224 yr I believe you're over engineering all this and you might not need to! - GTN Trainer version is separate from the launcher version. - Trainer 2.7.1 and Trainer 3.2.3 are the Launcher versions. - The former includes all individual trainers (GTN, databases, etc..) the latter only the Launcher and the databases. - The former includes GTN Trainer 6.62.4 and the former doesn't include any GTN Trainer, it is a separate download inside the launcher. So where does this leads you? The most up to date versions we're supporting as of now is Trainer Launcher 3.2.3 (for its latest databases) and GTN Trainer 6.62.4 (which we embed during installation of our product, along with the Launcher 3.2.3). Since Trainer 2.7.1 also includes the same GTN trainer version, I believe you only need to install the Garmin trainers using our installer.
February 1, 20224 yr Author My question was simply about Installing two different Garmin GTN750 Trainers. I did not know if the section in the RXP manual would do that or not. When I install RXP GTN750 it installs Garmin Trainer version 3.2.3.0 which makes my previously installed F1 Garmin Trainer version 2.7.1.0 inoperative and I can no loner use: Alabeo PA31 Alabeo C310R Flysimware C441 " I believe you only need to install the Garmin trainers using our installer. " How can I install the F1 trainer v2 7 1 and your trainer v3 2 3 0 using your installer? This is what I current see when starting PA31 and C441 (screenshots).https://i.imgur.com/F93RkjM.jpg https://i.imgur.com/o2sNiRn.jpg Edited February 1, 20224 yr by vonmar Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
February 1, 20224 yr It looks like the issue you're facing is not installing different Launchers (3.2.3 vs 2.71) nor installing different GTN Trainers (6.62.4 vs 6.62.4 - not a typo, vs kept for illustration only). The RXP GTN also supports the latest database package included with the Garmin trainer launcher installer v3.2.3. It just seems you're trying to use another product which doesn't recognize the latest database update. It is the RXP support forum and I can't help much with another product, not only because it is not ours, but more importantly because I don't know how it operates at all. However I believe you have the knowledge and understanding (re: your 1st post) to figure out what to do with which so that one is automatically finding its files, and the other is manually redirected to the most recent ones.
February 1, 20224 yr Author Thanks for the reply. Yes, as I mentioned I was trying to get both F1 GTN and RXP GTN working on my PC setup. When I could not get both working I posted here. I will Un-install RXP and see if I can get 2.7.1.0 reinstalled and these aircraft operational again. Alabeo PA31 Alabeo C310R Flysimware C441 Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
February 1, 20224 yr NB: the RXP GTN is compatible with nearly all of the Garmin database installers to date, but it is only compatible with a few GTN Trainer versions (we try to remove from time to time support for older ones because you don't need them all).

Thanks for the additional information. That turns out to be the problem. Before purchasing RealityXP GTN750 and GNS530Wv2 I checked posts in this forum. I read that some pilots purchased both F1 GTN 750 and Reality GTN 750 and were using both on the same PC without any problems. After I installed RealityXP GTN 750 I was surprised to see my F1 GTN 750 no longer working on my payware aircraft. So on my setup with my payware aircraft I cannot have both RealityXP GTN 750 and F1 GTN 750 installed on the same PC. Edited February 2, 20224 yr by RXP Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW

I'm not sure to understand what you mean with "that turns out to be the problem"? If you are referring to: Quote NB: the RXP GTN is compatible with nearly all of the Garmin database installers to date, but it is only compatible with a few GTN Trainer versions (we try to remove from time to time support for older ones because you don't need them all). Following what I've also indicated earlier: 19 hours ago, RXP said: It looks like the issue you're facing is not installing different Launchers (3.2.3 vs 2.71) nor installing different GTN Trainers (6.62.4 vs 6.62.4 - not a typo, vs kept for illustration only). It just seems you're trying to use another product which doesn't recognize the latest database update. The issue doesn't seem to be that you can't install nor use both: 1) You'll limit yourself from the latest in trying to use both 2) Unless there is a known issue with the 3 aircraft you'd like to fly with, there is no reason not to update these with the RXP GTN. 3) And even if there is a known issue with the 3 aircraft you'd like to fly with, there is no reason to not trying to make them working, and given they are shipping with preset for an unsupported product, there is no reason either to contact their vendors so that they update their aircraft with RXP GTN integration. February 28, 20224 yr Hi, I understand exactly what Vonmar means!😄 I have two Prepar3D versions v4.5 and v5.3 I have 2 different GTN 750s from F1and those from Reality XP I bought the GTN750 from Reality XP out of necessity because the F1 GTN750 version no longer (or does not yet) work with Prepar3D v5.3.17.28160 The last properly working version of F1 was in Prepar3D v5.3.15.28131 Since the Reality XP version does work under Prepar3D v5.3.17.28160, I like to use it in Prepar3D v5.3.17.28160 But I would really like to use the GTN750 from F1 in Prepar3D v4.5 as well, because it makes my Carenado aircraft suitable for the F1 GTN750 with just 1 mouse click. And these are then directly in the right place in the panel..... I have tried the Reality XP version but it is such a hassle to get it in the right place in the panel .... Except for the Flysimware Lear35 because it has its own tool to make a choice between the F1 GTN750 or the Reality XP GTN750. Since both GTNs use their own Garmin Trainers, I think it is impossible to install them together on 1 PC, where I use the Reality XP GTN750 in Prepar3D v5.3.17.28160 and the F1 GTN750 in Prepar3D v4.5 If anyone knows what to do? I keep myself recommended... Hans Edited March 5, 20224 yr by RXP
March 5, 20224 yr @Milonas This is a particularly good case which I believe might be representative. It is very simple though: - The Reality XP GTN is offering the same level of feature* and benefit on all simulators from FS9 to the latest P3D5.3, this includes of course P3D4. - Swapping another GTN for the Reality XP Garmin GTN is very easy in fact. Instead of 1 click to change the configuration with the aircraft tool, it is about 3 clicks more to just select the Reality XP Panel Configuration Assistant live in the simulator, when you've already loaded the aircraft and ready to fly, then select the option to swap gauges, select a couple settings and "Accept". It reloads the aircraft automatically. - If you don't want to repeat this, although there is no reason at this stage to change the configuration back to something else but even if you do, the only affected file is the panel.cfg file. This is the only file which the aircraft included tool will make changes to and which would affect the RXP configuration. The other RXP specific files like RealityXP.GTN.ini won't be touched by the aircraft included tool. In other words, once you've configured the aircraft once, just make a backup copy of the panel.cfg file and restore it whenever you want to put back the RXP configuration.*only a few less on FS9 of course, and a few more specifically on P3D in 64bits.
