However I would recommend dropping to 30fps and locking it with Vsync in the game. The Nvidia control panel should be default with the exception of the performance setting (you can set that to maximum performance). That's pretty much what I do with my 5600X, RTX3070 and 32 inch 1440 monitor Maxis. I have LOD up to 300 and render scale at 100. I get CTDs if I set the LOD much higher than 300. Locking at 30 fps takes a lot of load off of the GPU and is smooth enough for me. I can select it, but its not working. Not sure whats going on. (even with default settigns in Nvidia Control Panel that is) Its the LG 27GL83A, so its 2560 x 1440 I think.

February 17, 20224 yr Similar system here, have fps @ 30. Only parameter I set in NCP is the power management - evrything else done from the sim graphics options. February 17, 20224 yr I don't understand how this question can be answered on the internet. Try different settings and see what you like without constantly staring on your fps counter. Does it appear smooth enough for you? Are you willing to tolerate dips in frame rates when using addon scenery, etc? Only you can answer this question. MSFS is basically a set it and forget it kind of simulator and doesn't require the constant tinkering (mostly based on voodoo) that characterized P3D. I have an old potato for a PC (thanks Mr. Fuzzy) with 8 gigs of system ram and run it all at medium settings, with all effects turned on except blur. I get about 24-28 fps on average. Works for me. I don't get hung up on the occasional stutter, or the loading of scenery. This is all in 1080 p on an ultrawidescreen monitor. Check out the many, many screenshots I've posted with this setup.

Exactly which is why i recommended STOCK ultra and in game Vsync.. increasing the level of detail past 200 (the default) may be a bridge too far. I also notice people recommending Gsync and stuff..in the vsync thread.. Sigh .. i wonder why people just don't answer the question at hand or just not answer instead of confusing matters much. There are two proven ways to run the sim. The first option is the vsync option which should be able to get him to the ultra level settings without much effort. I recommended this based on my experience with what his hardware is capable of so I'm not just speaking out of turn. Thankfully two or three people answered the question regarding the in game vsync. If the OP feels he needs more frames then he can try Gsync and its VRR and have to adjust his settings for the VRR to be effective because it operates within a range above 30fps. February 17, 20224 yr Render scale and LOD are pretty heavy on your system and you have to strike a balance, especially at 4k. As I said earlier, at 1440 I am finding Render scale 100 and LOD 300 a good balance for my system, but if I want to go any higher on LOD, I have to reduce render scaling which somewhat defeats the object. We all have to find a balance for our own systems.
