March 2, 20224 yr I see short blurbs about this and a video or two the last couple of days. Anybody have good information or experience? Perhaps it is free to try on your little device if you already own the PC version thru the MS store? Do you need to subscribe to some sort of online computer and then your handheld is just a screen to stream the sim? https://www.polygon.com/22956986/microsoft-flight-simulator-xbox-cloud-streaming 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. March 2, 20224 yr However it works, we poor Steam users will certainly not be part of the game. BTW, I revel in the notion of a dumbed down MSFS for hand devices and Xbox consoles. It brings in a multitude of users and brings in their monies for Asobo and Microsoft to accumulate. As long as the $ roll in, these large companies will keep the enormous infrastructure in place. Which keeps detailed scenery in the cloud for my wonderful magic box (a PC desktop) to bring an evening's entertainment my way. 🙂 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. March 2, 20224 yr You need to be subscribed to the Ultimate version of Gamepass to use X-Box Cloud Streaming. It streams the sim from their servers, it doesn't stream from your PC. It's like a remote virtual machine. Steam does have a built in home streaming service called 'Remote Play' that uses your computer to run and then stream the game to another computer that also has Steam installed. https://store.steampowered.com/remoteplay Edited March 2, 20224 yr by Tuskin38
March 2, 20224 yr What is the requirements for the junk underpowered P.C. they say that will be able to take advantage of Xbox cloud streaming? its for 2 of my nephews who are interested and cant get hold of an XBox X/S without selling a organ. P.C. Specs is AMD FX4300 cpu 3.8gh. Nividia GT 1030 2gig mem, 12 gig system ram, 1 gbs internet speed on wifi or ethernet on Windows 7sp1. Edited March 2, 20224 yr by jbdbow1970
March 2, 20224 yr Is this really playable on a PC with keyboard and mouse (not to mention other gear)? As far as I understood (and saw so far) you need a specific controller exclusively to control it. Or is this wrong? It's up to the X-box streaming team to implement it, not Asobo. I think Jorg said he's hopeful it will happen. I think it only supports regular controllers right now, not flight gear. Otherwise the money is perhaps better spent financing a decent desktop on payments. Assuming all the other 'benefits' of Ultimate Gamepass besides MSFS are of no interest to the subscriber. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. The X is almost double the suggested price of $499 in America on Amazon and Walmart (about $850). And is sold by unreliable 3rd parties on both sites. The XBox|S is readily available right at its suggested price everywhere ($299) in America at Bestbuy, Walmart, Amazon, etc. Amazon in the USA sells it direct. It is sold by Amazon and shipped by Amazon. In one day if you have Prime, otherwise in 3 or 4 days. Amazon is very liberal in its custom service and return policies. You can see the difference between X and S on Youtube in videos, such as.. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. March 2, 20224 yr While this may not be for me, I think it's a great entry point into flight simulation. And who knows, some of the newcomers may become expert Airbus Captains later. Just need 1080p and 30 fps for the young beginners with the Cessna 152/172 Keep in mind that, if you are using Cloud gaming from an Xbox S, even if the streaming resolution will be 1080p, you'll get the same graphic settings as if you were running a Series X, because the blade servers on the Xbox cloud have been recently upgraded to series X class, so you should get the same LOD settings and details of the Series X, but on an S, and it will run at 60fps, at least in areas in which a Series X could reach that. You might even use an older generation Xbox One as well (I guess they must be fairly cheap now), it won't matter, the controller is basically the same and on cloud you won't see any difference. March 2, 20224 yr Author Both |X and |S support bluetooth keyboards ($25) for the extra commands they might want to use from time to time. The TM TFlight Hotas is under $100 and includes stick, throttle, and 2 large metal levers (they make an right/left Axis not buttons) under your fingers on the throttle handle back which work very well for yaw. A simple plywood board to velcro the HOTAS onto, can rest on your lap, and I found that it will hold these controllers very steady. (My experience was 3 or 4 years ago with FSX on a laptop, but TM T-Flight Xbox compatible controllers will work the same mechanically with MSFS on an XBOX).
