MOUSE QUESTION

Featured Replies

I am using the Logitech M705 wireless mouse. It has two additional small buttons on the left side buttons that you can push in with your thumb. They are used to go forward or backward one page when looking at a website like this one for example. Does anyone else use this mouse and have figured out what we could use those buttons for in the sim?

Thanks

I use those buttons on my Logitech trackball.

The front one toggles cockpit / external view and the back one resets the current view.

Also the right button toggles freelook.

The trackball is all I use inflight and is perfect for panning. And zooming

The precision button cannot be programmed in MSFS.

It does - but I use that to turn knobs etc. in the cockpit 😉

I have a Microsoft Trackball Explorer, and before update 8,I could toggle VC free look with the center wheel button, now I can't shut it off. I have to zoom in,and out,to shut it off now.

I think the RMB can turn it off. Strictly speaking, the option shouldn't be called a "toggle" any more.

I use Track IR and I assign one of those two side buttons to the pause function in Track IR. It becomes quite intuitive then while clicking on VC buttons and dials to click that side button while pressing buttons and turning dials and then clicking again to unpause. It makes using Track IR more seamless. Far better than having to reach over to the KB with your other hand. The second button is assigned to the flashlight (torch) function for those cold and dark night time power ups where you can’t see anything in the dark.

This is what I do too.

What a wonderful idea. I always get mixed up which button the flashlight is and accidentally turn on all lights, etc. (ctrl & alt mix up). This is aggravating since I have a switch panel to control the lights. Assigning the flashlight to a button on the mouse is a great idea.

Not trying to hijack this conversation, but after SU9 I have completely lost the RMB ability to work for freelook. I have tried to play with setting for right mouse in options, reset settings to default, and I remain unable to change any view internally or externally beyond keystroke bindings. I have tried different mouse, and confirmed the right mouse button works in other apps. Current bindings for right mouse shows Toggle Cockpit Freelook (Hold), Toggle Cockpit Focus hold. Both of those are for cockpit camera. Similar bindings for the external camera and the instrument views. Also shows in miscellaneous for Cockpit Interaction - Secondary action along with "Mouse 4".  Any suggestions on how to rebind the original right mouse click and drag to move about the A320 NX cockpit? FYI the same binding right mouse fails to work with any other airframe. Also removed all other programs from my community folder in case of conflicts. I did leave the FBW A320 and the problem with right mouse button remains. Any suggestions?
