Featured Replies

Since last update now  the flightplans are calculated without waypoints, anyone can help with that?

thanks

Just installed MSFS on xbox a couple of days ago.  I have tried several times to put in waypoints into a flight plan.  I get exactly what you are showing a straight line with no waypoints included in the log.  I viewed several youtube videos that were produced several months ago for the xbox and they were showing that you could place waypoints between the arrival and dest. points.

you can yes, still can.

In the OP’s picture above of a straight line, if you click say, somewhere below the line it will say “add”. Click on that and the flight path will be ‘bent’ down to your new waypoint.

Once you’ve done that you’re off! You can now add other way points and create your route.

I have tried that several times with no luck.  It will not accept a waypoint.  Unlike the OP I am not opening a previous flight plan since I just installed MSFS.  I can create a departure and arrival point and I can save the flight plan.  All without waypoints.  I will say again MSFS is running an XBOX series X.

Add line for info

OP, try selecting a landing runway at your destination, instead of leaving the approach as "automatic."  The planner *should* put WPs in then.

ETA: Additionally, you can "Show More" in the map, then select filters, then enable either/both "Navigation Aids" or whatever it's called (I'm not in the sim at the moment) and also "Navigation Fixes/Waypoints." This will allow you to further customize your flight plan.

A somewhat related question: can I add a VOR station as a waypoint?

Yes. Any point on the map can be added as a waypoint. Just click and select "add." If you can't add waypoints, try changing your flightpath from GPS to low- or high-level airways.

Quite often in my world map it will not let me add waypoints. I can select arrival and departure but not add waypoints.

I have to come out of world map and then go back in, it then lets me add waypoints.

You can give Little Navmap a try. Absolutely excellent freeware flight planning and tracking tool.

I agree it should work on the in-sim map too, but LNM is a workaround if you need one.

I tried, but there are no VOR stations listed on the map, then how can I add them along with the VOR frequency?

Use the map filters. 😀
