Wispy Clouds

Featured Replies

Wispy Cirrus Clouds usually are indicators of weather to come.  Can or should this be modeled?

Much better modelled in Rex WeatherForce, but still not cirrus.  Live weather just uses different thicknesses of cumulus to model every cloud type.  Rex is much better at showing stratus at different levels that are more believable.

At the cost of terrible FPS loss and drop-in weather changes, though. I want to REX WF, but the performance is just terrible. Even with the settings changed to morph the weather changes more efficiently, it's still pretty bad.

The latest public preview is much better with fps.

A true cirrus layer is required for the best authenticity.

Why not.  Hopefully then they'll start to get the big clouds modeled correctly.

Rumor has it they need to do more computational fluid work on this topic and, while it's being investigated, feel free to create a topic and "vote".  Personally, I'm holding my breath for SU26.

I do believe Asobo will being us different types of cloud in a sim update at some point, but these things take time and are never as easy to impliment as people think.  I'm looking forward to it when it happens though and it's right at the top of my wish list.

It would be nice if they could tell us why clouds have not been implimented and what is preventing them from doing so (though they probably have and I've missed it).
