Night Lites - Better?

Here you go, from just now same time of day, but from the outside view as the plane was not the best choice for showcasing Manhattan scenery thru the glass--looks much better on my screen:

decided to give every country road in the world street lighting

Seems like a very gross exaggeration.  There are zillions of 'country roads' that don't have street lighting.

I agree.  However, since around January 2021 MSFS has decided that there are millions that do.

This is such a subjective topic. They could revert it back to the original lighting like some people prefer but then a different batch of people would rear their heads and ask "Why did you ruin the night lighting?"

You cannot please everybody with a feature like this, ever. It all comes down to almost an artistic interpretation if you will. I have flown at night IRL in a light aircraft and can say it looks quite different to MFS yet I personally still appreciate the aesthetic that the sim produces.

What I think they should be focussing on rather than redoing the auto generated night lighting again is implementing better airport lighting. For example, off during day, different light intensities based on ambient conditions, fixing the runway lighting to be visible from 360 degrees rather than directionally. These are actual things that can be objectively implemented without much question.

There is almost no airport nightlighting on unenhanced default airports.  I don't think this is an oversight--I think it was by design to help promote sales of 3rd party airports thru the Marketplace.
