MSFS has made study level airliners so much cheaper!

I’m also very excited for the a310. Hopefully the a220 is also not that far back either.

There you go again, expecting flight sim consumers to behave rationally, when has that ever been a thing?

I’m pretty sure there will be some very loyal FSL customers who will still buy the FSL A320, even if it’s worse than the Fenix A320, and even if that FSL A320 is more expensive than the Fenix A320.

The question is, will there be enough of those customers such that FSL makes a net profit?

If you are super rich, you can start a company that makes CPUs. Your CPUs are worse than Intel CPUs and more expensive than Intel CPUs.  Yeah, some uninformed customers or irrational customers will still buy your overpriced and underperforming CPUs.  But you’re gonna a net loss at the end of the day, because most informed and rational customers, will just skip your CPUs and buy Intel (or AMD) CPUs.

Now we don't have to buy any of this for MSFS!  So much money is saved!

Well, you didn’t have to buy any of those for FSX either.

There’s a heap of addons MSFS benefits from if you’re trying to make it a great sim.

It’s a bit of a myth that you won’t need to spend money on MSFS. MS/Asobo were talking just this week about how many add-ons are now in the market. Literally thousands.

I’ve got payware addons for airports, weather presets, AI traffic, ATC, ships and of course aircraft. I haven’t yet spent money on birds, but I did spend rather a lot to get a decent GPS.

Now, you can say that I didn’t need to buy those, or their were freeware alternatives. That’s pretty much just the same situation as FSX, or X-plane, or P3D, or FS9.

There will always be a lot of people happy with the vanilla sim, and there will also be a bunch of other people who choose to do whatever it takes to make the sim as good as it possibly can be.

I would not enjoy MSFS without these 3rd party addons.

It was $99, not $90.

I looked it up in my order history. It was $90. I assume that was the introductory price?

Well if FSL is planning to bring their already outdated cockpit in P3D to MSFS, then really good luck to them.

Price? You really expect FSL the most expensive payware on P3D to be as cheap as Fenix in MSFS? LoL

Once again you are making assumptions about something nobody has any idea about.

We have no idea how much FSLABS will charge in MSFS as well as any screenshots etc. For all we know some of the devs they hired are for modelling etc for MSFS specially.

Also like I said above you are going to pay $60-65 USD based on exchange rates for 1 Variant- The A320 CFM. Thats all you get. So FSLABS giving you two for $149.99 isnt that much more as well as their expansions arent that much for what you get and end up cheaper than Fenix But who knows when/what the pricing etc for those will be in the future.

You also have to remember the licensing for P3D is not the same as MSFS which is another reason its so pricy. I get everybody wants stuff for cheap and who knows. Maybe FSLABS will be $60-80 and everybody can make their choice. We just shouldnt make assumptions on info we have no idea about.

Plus Fenix most likely wont bring the IAE A320 let alone the A319/321 any time soon as I bet most of the background work was already done by Prosim etc.

Free of cost after release does not mean within weeks or anything.

AFAIK Prosim is still working on the A320 IAE so unless Aamir plans on custom coding the IAES himself it wont be quickly after release.

Perhaps. I’m not sure what they are charging now, because the P3D version appears to have been temporarily removed from their shop - I believe to prevent new customers from buying the P3D version by mistake.
