May 23, 20224 yr Commercial Member Hello, Doing a recent repair of v5 and ran into the ugly star/Milky Way texture flying a night flight. I can't remember for the life of me what texture this was that needed to be edited or replaced; by chance does anyone know how to address remove this overexaggerated white night sky? I've already edited MilkyWay_lm.dds to no avail. Thanks very much. Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
May 24, 20224 yr CaptKornDog - not sure what you were using but I am using the older but still good FlightSim Jewels night sky textures package for the MilkyWay, Star dat and moon. There are a number of textures that need to be changed not just the star data. Seems ok to me certainly better than the default mess!

I edited mine as well, can’t remember what I changed in the light map, either all white or black, but it basically got rid of the Milky Way altogether. What happens if you rename it to MilkyWay_lm.off? Does that work? Post Edit: below is a link to how I fixed that file in FSX. Should work the same in P3D. May 26, 20224 yr My vote is for the "FlightSim Jewels night sky textures package for the MilkyWay, Star dat and moon included". The HD Moon form the package. Milky way, is available in several hues. I also like a blazing sun (this is out of a Rex texture package). No joy with the technique in the link, but thanks anyway. Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
