June 3, 20224 yr A 1950's movie which one of only 2 or 3 filmed in a special 'flat' technicolor direct image process. It was also a widescreen production with a relatively large buget. Especially for a science fiction film. Praised by most critics in that day, but panned by some who didn't like the traditional stereo types: macho tough guy ethos lead character with a 'funny' sidekick. For its day, the special effects were revolutionary and one or two shorter scenes are on some lists of most memorable in Hollywood history. It was not a box office success.
