WU10 Bespoke Airports

Not only that, but his Valdez Airport (PAVD) image after update is messed up also.  I don't know what that large blue processing tank facility is, but it's not there in real life nor in MSFS WU10.

Your comment picked my curiosity. I looked through some real life photos of the airport, as well as google maps satellite images, and there doesn't seem to be a large processing facility there. So I went looking for MSFS WU10 images and found this on Reddit:

Which could indicate that it is in fact part of the scenery. Or perhaps there's "something fundamentally busted" in that Reddit users computer too 😉 I might be a bit touchy on that subject since I've spent some time putting the PC together as well as optimizing it in different ways.

Anyway, after loading up the sim without any addons, Catalina now looks as it should:

So could have been a conflict with some freeware scenery. It can quickly get messy when downloading lots from flightsim.to.

Another thing though is that Valdez airport is covered in snow using real weather, whilst the current METAR lists a temperature of 12°C. I guess this could be possible, but then again I have no idea what the real world conditions are like at Valdez in the middle of June.

There's probably snow on the near by mountains. MSFS uses the low resolution snow map from Meteoblue so it bleeds over into areas where there shouldn't be snow.

The scenery is nice but the first thing I notice is how lifeless airports are. I’ve looked at many ramps on satellite view and they almost always have ‘several-to-many’ parked aircraft. Shame these bespoke and addon sceneries don’t. Maybe some day.

I still use the ORBX KAVX with lots of folks standing around. Haven't dl'd WU10 yet.

Static aircraft would take up space for AI or VATSIM. No thanks.

You could always use the static aircraft slider that's in the traffic options.

I noticed that KBID is no longer for sale. The size of my payware is about twice the size. Has anyone compared the two?
